If your career is tech base, you need as much german to scale thru d HR after which you are processed for interview with ur manager-to-be to HOD.... From my previous experiences, u need to speak the first phrase in german and the interviewer ask u to switch to english. And in most cases u are given a computer with a probearbeit...... If u are skilled enough, u might get ur job... I've been in the industry for almost 2 yrs, I can tell u that the difficult part of the language problem is the HR...... U manager and colleagues will communicate with u in english.... If u are tech base, computerfutures are always looking for qualified people, they have lots of english-base clients and they can get u interview as soon as they proof ur skills.
willy2000:

There are jobs in Germany i can testify to that. I attended two job fairs and i can tell you i got 3 interviews without stress.
I only decided not pursue 2 of them because of distance and the third was a smaller company with a smaller project team. Most company will be more than happy to employ you if you have the required skill. Although IT might be the in thing now but i tell you the truth, without a good command of German you may remain stagnant.

And your conspiracy theory about mittelstand holds no water angry angry

wow! A lot have transpired in a few hours. I know how hard it is to tie down these ogas from Germany, so Oga jejet you must brace this edition already on a good track courtesy Cindino20 and Zeeblamj.

Oya Oga jejet, over to you...We would be glad to see you entertain them.
1. Please, introduce yourself,
course, school and city. (if applicable)
2. How does German educational system differ
from the system you were used to?
3. What academic challenge(s) did you face or are
you facing currently and how are/did you tackling/
tackle them?
3. What is your (academic) advise to prospective
Nigerian student coming over to study?
(summarised)
4. Do your school have a sizeable number of
international students and what is the state of
interaction like with them?
5. Did you find it difficult integrating into the
society and how were you able to overcome it if
you had?
6. In your opinion, do you think a hard working
Nigerian student with a particular result can
maintain his/her academic performance in
Germany with the same efforts? A scale will be
appreciated, I know time is not the only or the
best measure of hard work but For instance,
A spends 6 hours of study everyday in Nigeria,
GPA=4
". ". ". ". ". ". ". in Germany GPA=?
7. Like in any society, there are distractions or
factors that reduces performance, what are the
major culprits in Germany for an unenlightened
Nigerian JJC?
8. Most of the male or even females at one time or
the other would have fantasized having a German
Prince or princess, what are their chances? Do the
shy Germans gals take to Nigerians? Can Ahbie,
crowns or Amahtrendy get their prince charming
easily?
9. List 5 most important items an intending new
comer should bring along to Germany.
10. Give 5 most important tip to surviving in
Germany, jobs and all.
11 on a scale of 1-10 rate your city in terms of

Guys, I sent the embassy the confirmation from DB that the 8040 Euros have been received but I didn't get an acknowledgement from them. Is this normal or am I supposed to receive a notification?

Thanks

@futurewiser,

Are you sure with your fact that a sponsorship letter obtained from german embassy in developed countries is valid for visa processing in german embassy in lagos.

I have uncles in czech republic and usa who are citizens who told me to inquire if a sponsorship letter obtained from the german embassy in their respective countries are valid for the visa processing in german embassy here

Well let me share a secret with my fellow Germo brothers and sisters. I was at the ikeja high court today for my declaration of age. You don't necessary need to give those tout money to help you because from my research you don't get a receipt. Since this thread is helping us to DIY without any agent, I will say how I did mine on my own without any agent both notorization and affidavit. when I drove in, the security asked what am there for and he sent somebody after me. The lady refuse 250/ page so I dropped from the car and scope one of the guard to show me where they do it. Went there and met the public notary there (Akwa Ibom man) and brought up a conversation and started discussing how I enjoyed Akwa Ibom during my school days finally did 10 pages for 1,500. The next time I went, did 5 copies for 1000.
Today I decided to just pass by and do the declaration of age. Drove in again and they rushed and the man was saying 1500. I just laugh and dropped to take passport photo cause one is required. While snapping I scoped the photographer and he showed me the entire process. If you can even type and print the blank form and bring it along, it will do you good but if not, go to the shops at the police station ) opposite the high Court) and print out for 150 naira and walk back into the high Court and ask for registry in front of all those brt buses. Inside the big office at the stage, they will write a receipt for you and stamp(250 naira, hold change o or else). Then you go to a commission in same office opposite the stage. There are up to 10( pick your choice and it's free). With this process, you have the legit declaration. From what I saw, those commissioners can still notorised your academic documents for little change. Gute nacht

my own passport. I have a birth certificate from the hospital I was born which I have being using but due to what the embassy wants, so I told them to write it is jst a declaration that my birth certificate is true cause I will attach my real birth cert to the declaration.
You can declare your birth cert is lost cause that is what I saw when the guy was editing mine.

I may be wrong here but I believe it is always the safer option to understand requirements properly.

The checklist clearly states what can be submitted to satisfy the "Age" criteria.

Birth Certificate from National Population Commission or Declaration of Age deposed to by head of Family

So, this clearly shows that the birth certificate from the hospital of birth isn't an option and also that a self-sworn affidavit of age is unacceptable.

The declaration of age is to be drafted as if it was sworn by the head of one's family (Father or Mother) and possibly attach their passport photograph to it.

All the steps you listed should apply also for this purpose as I got the 250 naira receipt though I paid the guy 1k to arrange it for me as I couldn't wait. I just explained all to him and came back hours later to pick it up and pay the dude his 1k.
