vibrant99:If you meet someone who rejected you before? You tell the person you have come again and your dreams of studying abroad lies in his hand with a smile The next question he or she will ask would be have you travelled out of Nigeria before? You reply, not really till now. I've got a scholarship sort of. Believe me, he or she would approve your visa. One thing most people don't know is that VOs follow up what you say and ask questions toward the same direction. 1 Like |

DeeTus: Na So. We just would never know why she was denied again. I just find it odd she was interviewd by the same person. I've read transcripts here where VOs transfers your case to another VO if he/she conducted the last interview. LagosNIV could you please clarify this. |

texrem:Are you really sure? If the rule says that same female VO is not supposed to have interviewed you, do you know that your case could be reopened but I doubt if it's the same VO. |

This forum gave so much to me.no documents was asked I was directed to window 9 but the White guy said he was going on break. So I waited for Window 11. She collected my documents and looked thru VO:Tell me why East Tennessee State University? MEwith palpitation)I chosen East Tennessee State University because of the presence of a special training Public Health Center that links the Clinical and Academic aspects of Public Health. Also was awarded a Tuition Scholarship which affords me the opportunity to work with Dr.Amal whose research is in line with mine. VOinterested)and which research is that? ME:health care delivery to rural population.I work in the hospital and I see that rural populations are not fully considered in the delivery of health care. VO:and Why is that and what do you think should be done to health Care system in Nigeria? ME:due to the policies being made by our leaders, and thats why I am going for this course so that when I return to the country,I can make policies that will affect the population in a positive way VO:Do you know anyone in Tennessee ? ME:No VO:Have you been to the United States before? ME:No VO:Have you been outside this country? ME:I was in Ukraine for my undergraduate for 6 yrs,Also visited Lithuania for Medical conference VO:What was your undergraduate degree? ME:Doctor of Medicine VO:does the scholarship cover your fees? ME:My uncle will bear the rest VO:I have approved your visa and both ears became blocked suddenly.she gave me the white paper. I really want to appreciate God for His faithfulness,He who knows the end from the beginning. I also want to appreciate everyone that has posted one thing or the other on this forum, cos you have stirred up the giants in me. I almost gave up . I want to appreciate walspring -who read thru my transcript last night and sent it to me about midnight.God bless you; Also Slimmy(always on speed dial) from start to finish, cant wait to finally meet you. Innovativeme for his mock interview and Zeezahbee for your tutoring.God wont forget you guys. Concerning my application, the obstacle was that my parents and immediate elder sister are US Citizens. I filled the information on the DS160 cos I didnt want to lie.I also tried to confirm from them if any of them had filed for me but they could not remember. I was surprised that the VO didnt touch it. Anyway GOD Win. Thanks so much 5 Likes |

Visa was approved today in Abuja in a unique way. Earlier I asked a question regarding my unique case and everyone on this forum seemed to avoided the question. I no shake at all. I just stuck with all that I have learnt by reading the various pages of this thread. Here goes my story at Abuja Embassy today. Vo: (After clicking and typing, typing and clicking, she looks up at me and says "Did you write any standardized tests?" Me: Sure while bringing it out and passing it to her to see. Vo: Why did you choose PV (Prairie View)? Me: First, It has a fast-track and well-structured curriculum which suits my career needs and aspirations and which will help me finish my programme in a shorter time to come back to my home country....... Vo: Interrupts me and says " Explain what you mean by well-structured curriculum which suits your career needs. Me: I am deficient in computer programming and the curriculum of this uni offers me alot of programming courses. I listed some for her Vo: okay, So how many Uni's did you apply to? Me: four unis and I listed them Vo:When did you apply to these unis Me: I went blank.....I couldn't remember the exact dates I applied. So I took permission from her and opened my folder and brought out my Ghantt chart that I used to organise my application process. When I tried to look up the exact date from the Ghantt chart, she asked me to pass the chart to her and I did. Vo: looks at it for a while, puts it asides types and clicks for a while and then ask why I have chose to do Computer Information Systems Me: Firstly, This course is like a three-edged sword comprising of Computer Science, Business, and management. This equips me with the necessary skills to establish myself as an Entrepreneur or as a top level manager that oversees the affairs of other ICT professionals. Secondly, Professionals that studied this programme are highly sort after in my home country ( Everything I dey tell am nah home-country, which shows her I really want to return to Nigeria) Vo: I can see you did a degree in the Uk, can I see your transcript Me: Sure, passes the transcript to her. While she was going over the grades, I told her that I should have been the best graduating student but for my M.Sc Project which has the lowest score and tells her that it was because of my deficiency in programming and that is why I really need to do this CIS course. Vo: She puts it aside and types and clicks, clicks and types and finally asks "Who are your sponsors?" Me: My mum because she was listed on my form i-20, then I also told her my Dad will be supporting. Vo: What do they do? Me: I explained to her Vo: Gives my back my form i-20 and encourages me not to arrive late for school resumption. Then she keeps my passport away and gives me a letter stating when to come back for my visa and where to pick it up. Me: Thank you very much while bouncing out I wasn't asked about work or bank statement and she didn't really emphasize the whole second masters issue. Thanks everyone. My advice is to read through the various pages of this thread and be prayerful. Also emphasizes your home country in some or most of your answers. 7 Likes
