Marcelini: I don't know about you, but I find this thread very informative. The difference between this thread any any other ill attempted thread aimed at supplanting glaring facts, is that this thread will always be the most comprehensive, fact based thread with multiple references, covering the widest range of products and commodities. This thread lists largest producers of these products, and not just anywhere that produces them. * Rice for example, is grown in almost all states of Nigeria but this thread listed the major producers. * Traces of rare earth metals can be found anywhere with soil, but the main point is identifying where major deposits are * Even Adamawa and Taraba grew cocoa (pleasant surprise), but this thread clearly identifies the major producers * Groundnut is grown everywhere in Nigeria, but we all know the bulk of it comes from the north * Cement can be produced in small quantities everywhere that has limestone, but all the biggest plants are currently in Ogun (50%)- both of Africa's two largest producers, Dangote and Lafarge have their main production plants there * Only a fool does not know that fish can be caught in any river in any Nigerian state, but the maritime states as enumerated in the table on page 1 are clearly the largest producers of seafood and aquaculture products. Calling that a lie is just plain stupidity. * Maize is found all over Nigeria, but this thread has shown the area with the greatest / lowest production and yields. * Same for Cassava which is grown all over Southern and central Nigeria, but production is not equally distributed. * And so forth. Don't just create a thread claiming to "debunk" the facts, by simply listing every state where certain things are found, even if the quantity is nothing to write home about. The thread you are referring everyone to, does not even cover most products discussed here, and I dare say, is the one being selective about what commodities to discuss. 11 Likes 1 Share |

Davidifeanyi: Hausas and Yorubas are never known to harbour any hatred or pogrom in the last fifty years or even before, for each other Yes, Northerners are known to be very intolerant of visitors who get very aggressive and encroaching on their native liberties. Yorubas on the other hand, are very accommodating and friendly, even to the excess of "visitors" within them ...to the extent that Ibos call them cowards! but the Northerner cannot stand such brazen arrogance, self conceitedness, greed and usually fly-off the handle when provoked. At least, Hausas or Igbos in The Yoruba-lands are living peacefully and going about their (lawful?) busisness. Hausas understand, respect and appreciate these things while the average Ibo, in their usual display of insensitivity, crass disrespect and mindlessness arrogance, continue to insult the only tribe that treats them like humans while at the same time foolishly thinking they can INCITE and cause a rift between the Northerners and South Westerners! The joke is that everyone is wise to that trick and it does not work. On the other hand, it makes our ibo brothers come across as some evil, manipulative and untrustworthy lot who are only out to cause disharmony, hatred and chaos! Why have l written the above,? I think at times, we need to say it as it is, let others appraise us so that we can reflect on who we are. I feel sorry that Igbos think all these type of actions is what they need to actualize Biafra when in actual fact, they do not realize that excpet they are brave enough to declare a secessionist war on the country (and l bet we all know what will happen if that route is taken), since No one is going to "DROP BAIFRA ON THEIR LAP" like it was some nice Christmas present! Tact, diplomacy, humility even in the face of strength, alliances, are virtues that get you what you want in this modern world, TO WIN YOUR BATTLES,..........not all these "gra-gra" that annoys others and makes everyone think "well, payback time will soon come around". But personally, l think Yorubas will always be open to "reconciliation" with those Ibos who have looked themselves in the mirror and then sheath their sword. IMO, l think Corruption and Nepotism presents bigger problems to us and are the bane of our problems which Igbo ascribe to "tribalism"....... and try to resolve with "separatism" Lastpage! 1 Like |

lastpage: N.B: The essence of this information is mainly to expose the lies of the notorious history distortionists and wicked propagandists who insult and malign others continually with lies and falsehood, and shout and make much noise on every available media. This a tribe that is after all well known for being loose cannons. Uncouth, uncivilised and disrespectful set of people who made a career out of abuse and slurs. The same treacheerous beings who precipitated the January 1966 coup and the 1967-70 civil war with their bloody 'Operation Wetie ' in the SW. They start trouble and heat up the polity only to run cowardly to hide in their evil Soka forest when the jungle matures. "Operation Wetie" in Yoruba means wet a human being and his/her properties with petrol and set them ablaze. YORUBAS ARE THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA - By Sanusi Lamido In sum, the Yoruba political leadership, as mentioned by Balarabe Musa, has shown itself over the years to be incapable of rising above narrow tribal interests and reciprocating goodwill from other sections of the country by treating other groups with respect. Practically every crisis in Nigeria since independence has its roots in this attitude. * The Yoruba elite and area-boy politics; * Igbo marginalisation and the responsible limits of retribution; and * The Yoruba Factor and "Area-boy" Politics. My views on the Yoruba political leadership have been thoroughly articulated in some of my writings, prime among which was " Afenifere: Syllabus of Errors" published by This Day (The Sunday Newspaper) on Sept 27, 1998. There was also an earlier publication in the weekly Trust entitled " The Igbo, the Yoruba and History" (Aug. 21, 1998)... Being Excerpts from A Paper Presented At The “National Conference On The 1999 Constitution” Jointly Organised By The Network For Justice And The Vision Trust Foundation, At The Arewa House, Kaduna From 11th –12th September, 1999. http://www.nigerianbulletin.com/threads/yorubas-are-the-problem-with-nigeria-by-sanusi-lamido-sanusi-elombah-com.111348/ REMI FANI KAYODE, AKINTOLA, AWOLOWO, WESTERN REGION AND THE CRISIS THAT TRUNCATED THE FIRST REPUBLIC These captains of the “tribalism industry” have good incentives to always omit the causes of the January 1966 coup preferring instead to dwell only on the coup itself. The reason is simple; It was in their own Western region then known as the “wild wild west” that election rigging, thuggery, violence, arson, mass murders and other forms of corruption and acts of lawlessness that occasioned the January 1966 coup took place as pioneering acts in Nigeria. Soon after Nigeria got independence the Western region was in turmoil. Premier Ladoke Akintola and Chief Obafemi Awolowo became embroiled in a protracted crisis. By 1962 the crisis led to sustained violence and acts of lawlessness with law makers engaged in vicious physical combats in the Western regional parliament. Amongst serious injuries and other damages, the mace of office was broken. The federal government intervened to curb the lawlessness and violence by imposing a state of emergency and appointing Dr Moses Majekodunmi as interim premier of the Western region on the 29th of June 1962. This became the first imposition of a state of emergency in Nigeria’s history due to heightened levels of lawlessness. Following an alliance between Akintola and Ahmadu Bello, Ladoke Akintola was returned to power on the 31st of December 1962 in spite of protests by Dr Nnamidi Azikiwe who requested fresh elections rather than reinstating Ladoke Akintola. By 1963, the plot between Akintola, Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello was perfected and Chief Obafemi Awolowo was arrested for coup plotting/ treason. His trial commenced in earnest and he was alongside some accomplices convicted for treason and jailed for 10 years. This again was the first alleged coup plotting and conviction in Nigerian history. Intent on totally decimating Chief Awolowo, Ladoke Akintola together with vice premier Remi Fani Kayode went into a political alliance with Prime minister Tafawa Balewa and new political party known as the Nigerian National Alliance (NNA) was formed. By this time Dr Nnamidi Azikiwe had realised the folly of entering a coalition with Tafawa Balewa’s government and teamed up with incarcerated Chief Awolowo’s Action group to form the all progressive grand alliance (UPGA). In 1964, federal elections became due. As usual ethnic chauvinism, intimidation and violence was part of the frenzied campaigning. Remi Kayode and Akintola’s campaign was as usual almost entirely based on tribalism. When the elections were finally held, it was massively rigged in the Western region. Indeed deputy premier Remi Fani Kayode had famously boasted that “there is nothing they can do, whether they vote us or not, we will win.” This statement turned out to be true as massive rigging was orchestrated in the elections. Once again this became the first pioneering act of election rigging by indigenous actors in Nigeria’s history. The announcement of the rigged election results quickly sparked off unprecedented acts of thuggery, violence, arson, mass murders and general acts of lawlessness in the Western region. Daily mass murders and arson became routine in the Western region (wetie). This violence and lawlessness in the Western region was to continue from 1964 until 1966 when the military lost patience and finally struck. The Western region was thus a region in crisis from the onset of post-colonial rule. By the time of the military coup, Chief Obafemi Awolowo himself was incarcerated for treason and the region was practically on an uncontrollable violence and trajectory of self destruction for almost two years from 1964 to 1966. At the same time that the Western region was aflame the Eastern region was calm and democratic. Unlike the Western region there were no cases of election rigging, thuggery or other such acts of lawlessness in the East. In the North there was sporadic violence in the TIV division which was put down by the military. Of all the regions, the western region was torn the most by crisis and acts of lawlessness which eventually occasioned the coup. If the leadership of the Western region had played by the rules and avoided the infighting, the election rigging, the thuggery, the planning of a coup in 1963, the arson, the mass murders and other such corrupt acts and vices many of which were being introduced for the first time in Nigeria and which incidentally continues to haunt the nation to date, there would have been no coup and Nigeria would no doubt have immensely benefited from a functional democracy devoid of election rigging, thuggery and violence as it obtains in many progressive nations around the world. The leadership of the Western region in conspiracy with Prime Minister Tafawa Balewa and Ahmadu Bello are singularly responsible for the events and crisis that truncated the first republic and ruined the nation. Those who carried out the coup choose to act out of genuine anger and frustration at the carnage in the Western region. Whatever the demerits of the coup, It is obvious the coupists had nothing to gain other than the patriotic urge to end the corruption and lawlessness that had taken hold of the nation particularly the Western region. Yorubas created the crisis that occasioned the coup and whose region the coup saved from self destruction are some of the biggest ungrateful noisemakers who peddle the propaganda of colouring an anti corruption revolutionary coup with patriotic ideals very similar to that of Flt Lt Jerry Rawlings in a tribal garb. In Ghana, Jerry Rawlings led a coup that eliminated three former heads of state, top military officers and top members of the judiciary. Not one of those killed was from Jerry Rawlings Ewe tribe, but Ghanaians didn’t spew tribalism into the coup and Ghana is better for it. With too many vultures and opportunists...preying on tribalism in Nigeria the story was bound to be different and thus a coup driven out of patriotism and obvious anger at the state of affairs was reconstructed as an Igbo coup and the worms were let out from the woodwork. 1 Like |

lastpage:https://www.nairaland.com/2524498/igbo-traders-yorubas-often-neglect Bravo! Clap for yourself! You really lived up to the trademark handed over to you by Awolowo and Co. The wicked seed of bitterness, hatred, treacheery, tribalism and nepotism your forebears planted in you have yielded bountiful harvest! Just at the mere mention of Biaf...you and your Yoruba tribe would shout, cry, weep, wail, yell, curse and make much noise on every available media with thick mucous dripping down your smelly noses as if your life sustenance is being taken away! You aren't seen nothing yet...more misery awaits you and your supporters A disgruntled element from a treacherous tribe writing gibberish to attempt to cover up the numerous evils being perpetrated by his wicked and greedy tribe. That moment when the sleepy lion wakes to clear his throat, the barking dog begins to run for his dear life. That awkward moment when shouting mouth jams moving action, mouth becomes dumb. That time is here with us... If Yorubas are accommodating and friendly, why have Yorubas persistently bred and used miscreants to distort money and distrupt the businesses of law-abiding citizens in Lagos? Why would any Yoruba person dare utter such word like 'accommodating' other people in Lagos - a city developed with crude oil money and by the communal efforts of every tribe in Nigeria for close to a century; as if Yorubas feed other people and give out lands for free? Between the Igbos and Yorubas, which of them constantly display insensitivity, crass disrespect, mindlessness arrogance and continued to insult the dignity and sensibility of other people using their numerous media outfits to heat up the polity, creating enmity and problems in the country and still foolishly think they are the 'sophisticated' tribe? The Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi had already exposed the wicked lies of the treacheerous tribe in his paper titled 'YORUBAS ARE THE PROBLEM WITH NIGERIA'. Igbo people are no betrayers and don't harbour traitors, chronic, perennial, perpetual, pathological liars! Igbos have been killed in the North since 1940s, long before independence. They have continued to be killed in the North up till present. Nzeogwu's coup only provided a pretext for the North supported by the treacherous West to embark upon their favorite past time. Ojukwu defended Igbos from ethnic cleansing. Igbos survived the war because they are very resilient. Biafra fought against world powers-backed Nigeria and the war lasted three years but when the big mouthed Yoruba tribe tried their gra-gra in 1993, it did not even last two days. Yorubas started trouble they cannot finish in 1993 using 'June 12' with their Odua Islamic Republic of Ritual-killers in mind and were expecting Igbos to fight their wars; Ralph Obioha and Bobo Nwosisi were the only people around their AareOnaKakanfo MKO Abiola when he declared himself president-elect. The arrogant and cowardly tribe couldn't even protect him from being whisked away like a common thief. He was eventually slaughtered like a salah ram. All their gra-gra in 1993 did not last 2 days... Yorubas and their co-travellers accuse Igbos of being greedy. That Igbo's love for money is insatiable, while every other Nigerian groups hate money! Abacha, Gowon, Obj, IBB, Danjuma, Abiola, etc, heartless men who looted the Nigerian treasury dry, is any of them Igbo? If there is any one tribe in the world that values and protects the stranger that tribe is Igbo. Igbos permeate almost every nook and cranny of the country, peacefully and immensely contributing their quota to the economic advancement of the locals and the country at large. I am yet to read Igbos on rampage causing havoc and fighting their 'host'. Igbos network with their 'host', build business empires and some of them even get married to their 'host', all for peaceful co-existence and building bridges. Is there any tribe that exhibits such 'Nigerianess' than the Igbos? Can the treacheerous tribe boast of this? NO! But what do the Igbos get in return for this patriotic display of One Nigeria - threats and destruction of their lives and properties by the so called 'host'? Igbos are being harassed, molested and their legal businesses distrupted on regular basis by the 'host' and its government. Oba Riliwanu Akiolu of Lagos even went as far as threatening to drown Igbos in the Lagoon if they did not vote for his candidate in the last 2015 election. And a good number of Yorubas hailed and supported their Oba for the bold step - Dr Ariyo, Kunle Afolayan etc.! The Igbos have done much and achieved much for themselves and Nigeria. Whatever negative impression you get from any quarter is as result of envy - the pull-him-down syndrome. But that has not deterred Igbos from waxing stronger and excelling in almost every socio-economic index. YORUBA LEADERS SOWED THE SEED OF TRIBALISM AND RUINED NIGERIAN ECONOMY Many of the achievements of the Yoruba tribe is largely due to the fact that they have been unjustly favoured by the lopsided arrangement in the polity. That's why a great number of Yorubas would prefer the status quo to remain. A number of Yorubas have used the unjust system to their advantage, looting the treasury with reckless abandon. Yoruba leaders wrecked this country and brought her to the present miserable state! Many Yorubas overtly or covertly support the evils been perpetrated in this country. (Informed people are not deceived by Yoruba usual shouting, crying, weeping, wailing, yelling, cursing and making much noise on every available media. This a tribe that is after all well known for being loose cannons. Uncouth, uncivilised and disrespectful set of people who made a career out of abuse and slurs.) If there is any southern tribe that have gained much from this fraudulent union, it is the Yoruba tribe! Yoruba tribe have only flourished at the expense of others courtesy of the unjust system! In saner climes many Yoruba leaders should have been behind bars spending the rest of their miserable lives for the great looting of our commonwealth. Inspite of the crass looting of the treasury by many Yorubas, Yoruba land still remains one of the illiteracy and poverty stricken regions in Nigeria! Yoruba achievements have not in any way given her people a better welfare than the Igbos. Whichever way the loudmouthed tribalists turn, one is certain - they must be made to eat their words! BTW, this is not the first time such wickedness had been done to the Igbos. After the war, the Yoruba god, Awo gave only a paltry £20 to any Igboman who could bring evidence he had money in Nigerian banks before the war! The Albanians of Yugoslavia suffered killings and genocide, but today they are free and got Kosovo their dream country while Yugoslavia is no more! Whatever Igbos may be going through now is part of the struggle. Freedom isn't given, it's taken. Definitely, there is no pain, no gain. The bottom line remains that guilty conscience is the problem of many Yorubas which has practically beclouded their sense of judgement. They taunt the Igbo with images of the Biafran war. They brag to these victims of their genocidal exploits in the war; how Adekunle murdered innocent youths in their prime and how their god Awolowo used starvation policies to create kwashiorkor-ridden children. And they think these things don't irk the common Igbo youth. Igbos may go through pains in the beginning, but majority are resolute fighters and never quitters. They are very confident of overcoming like they did after the Biafran war. The typical Igbo man is civil and values the sanctity of life. When a couple of distinguished past nationals like Nnamidi Azikiwe did their best to promote national patriotism even to the disadvantages of their own people, the likes Obafemi Awolowo used their positions to entrench hatred, bitterness, tribalism, nepotism and religious bias in the polity for their selfish gains. The latter are still being held in high esteem by their tribesmen, and they even use any means to shove it down the throats of other people. No matter how hard these evil men try to cover up and silence the truth; truth is stubborn and she cannot be drowned. She is like a pack of straws that are held together and pinned down by a strong hand at the bottom of a river so that she should not be seen or heard. Yet one day, in the fullness of time, that strong hand that seeks to suppress her forever shall wither and dry up. At that point Lady Truth will happily float to the top of the water where she will be seen and heard by all. It is in the same way that one day, in the fullness of time, the pernicious and perfidious verdict...that the powers that be have claimed....will be exposed for what they are. I will not even go out to find any other info, I'll use ones already provided on the thread you claimed did not do so. Attached is the percentage of output of rice, cassava, maize, and yam. Further a map was provided breaking down the states with highest production and states with higher yield. Cassava --benue, kogi, enugu, cross rivers and imo produces the largest. While kogi, ekiti, ondo, and Abia having the highest yield with ondo being the highest. Rice-Taraba, Niger and benue produces the largest amount while Ebonyi measures the highest yield. Maize - Niger, Kaduna the largest while imo measures the highest yield All of which provided on the thread without according to you "factual proof" In addition, attached is the fish production and distribution once again provided in that "non factual thread" The only thing I didn't speak of is groundnut and cement. In addition, majority of the minerals on this thread are currently untapped. Only 13 minerals in Nigeria currently tapped and each state 13 minerals, especially the most high yield", I provided a breakdown of where it's gotten. Next time actually bother to READ a thread before writing rubbish with contradicts that said thread
