FAQs(frequently asked questions) For the pre-degree programme What is pre-degree? Pre-degree as the name implies is a programme ran by the centre for distance learning of OAU, for university first degree seekers, it runs for 9 months and within this months the students are taught rigorously by lecturers of the institution. On what basis are students assessed and their admission process? The 9 months are divided into two contacts and for every contact students are assessed with a test and examination. At the end of the second contact, final results are released based on students performance for the whole programme and favourable cutoffs are set to determine students that had their desired courses. But a general pass mark of 60% which if passed by any student is guaranteed of being admitted. How is this more secured than the post utme? Firstly students are taught rigorously by lecturers and are assessed based on the teachings given. Secondly, unlike putme that don't admit all students above 200, predegree admits all aspirants that have above the 60%. How can i be assured that i will be admitted into the pre-degree programme? As part of of programs, TrustWit will be organising an enlightening programme which will include prep classes on the predegree entrance subjects. This will be emphatically published later. damiloskyboss:Ask ur questions here.. For ur percentage which is 64%. I think it is fairly good just pray d cut off favours u. Also ur cgpa 3.29 is very low, i know it is upper credit but u would have stand a better chance if u had distinction in ur previous school.. |

miel43:Yes but if someone fails DE screening, such candidate's credentials wil not be processed. To qualify for admission processing, such applicant must have passed DE screenin wit good percentage.. Ur grade (CGPA) in ur transcript wil depend ur admission and also overall performance of those applyin for ur course. D most competitive courses are law and medicine |

Over 1000 DE Applicants? That's quite much but not as much as the postUTME candidates,I wonder how much slots are available for DE candidates. Let's just keep our fingers crossed, and pls stop speculations that would make people feel sad,we surely don't know how DE admission process would be considered since its a new thing in OAU, also sometimes its all about favour, don't let anyone tell you,you aint qualified, until an official release is made,keep hoping and believing... 1 Like |
