When he announced that the office of the "First lady" will cease to exist  if he won the elections three things Happened :

1. Those who saw the office as a waste of public resources switched camps and aligned with him ‎

2. Those who saw the  "overbearing" influence of the former first lady screamed the messiah has come!!!!

3.those who simply wanted GEJ out because of his wife found a leader in the retired general.  

Believe it or not that statement gave him a good number of votes 


However,   Like the Promise of 20,000 megawatts vanished with a simple statement from Lai Mohammed and the Public assets declaration metamorphosed into an APC promise, the pledge not to have an office for the first Lady has all but disappeared.

The Punch Newspapers this week reported that unknown to public the Hajia Aisha Buhari who moved into the Villa before her husband had since  taken over the office of the first lady with full parafenlia and retinue of aides.

The deception was further taken to another level when the President secretly appointed Hajo Sani as Senior Special assistant for an office he promised not to entertain under his administration.
 Even when confronted with the facts Femi Adeshina and Garba Shehu were unable to provide explanations as to why they refused to announce the appointment until it was leaked to the public.
The only change that has taken place is the change in nomenclature from first Lady to Wife of the President. 

This post election change  in behavioural pattern raises a lot of questions

1 . Does changing goal post after election amounts to obtaining votes by false pretence?

2. Does re defining electoral promises by one party after hoodwinking the other party  to do its bidding amount to a betrayal of trust ?

3. Does a man who could not keep his own words have the moral right to ask others to do so ?

Why will a President who has previously declared an office unconstitutional turn around to allocate public funds and appoint senior public officers to an office that he promised to scrap? 


For the antagonists I have these few words....

This thread is not about Wailing far from it 

1. It's about asking a Party and an individual to keep the Promises and pledges they made to Nigerians 

2. It's about asking a man who many claim is a man of honour to do what is Honourable 

3. Is about asking all those who chanted change to see beyond party sentiments, ethnic or religious affiliation and stand for the truth even when it hurts

Hajia Aisha Buhari is not and has never been addressed as "the first lady" which was clearly stated was not in the constitution.

The "wife of the president" being what is being used to address her is not bad in anyway because our president has a wife and its very normal for her to be identified as part of the success he has achieved.

My greatest joy so far is that no matter how much people come to talk against and tanish Buhari's image, it will and can never affect his plans and agenda for the CHANGE he has promised.

If so many people are still blind towards the CHANGES already happening then I feel so sorry for those people because I can see the CHANGE and its for the better.

BE WISE, SUPPORT THE CHANGE AND JOIN TO MAKE IT A REALITY FOR NOT JUST US BUT OUR KIDS AND EVEN GENERATIONS TO COME.

At least even you are aware that some #wail just for the sake of it and out of sheer pain of the last election

I will be very brief:

Before, it was "office of the first lady" with all the attendant you-know-what.

Now, its "Office of the wife of the President".... and YOU.... think both are the same, right?

Let me break it down a little:

Working from your assumption that "both are the same" and "nothing has changed", l will go about it by showing what is NOT the same and what has changed:

Before: First lady Patience is like the Vice President, at times sef, Patience is the one who steps out of the aircraft first (a preserve of Presidents) and starts waiving like she was elected. WTF is that?
Now: We have not seen Aisha Buhari doing that

Before: Patience has her own allocation direct form the federation account. It was always a "shopping for GOLD" galore in Dubai!
Now; We are yet to see Aisha Buhari getting that or doing such mindless shopping at our expense.

Before: Jonathan could not control Patience because she ran a parallel office
Now: Buhari has made it clear that his 'bedroom appendage' would always be his WIFE! Not a parallel head of state!

Before: Patience is known to carry a very large entourage of her own, on 'state visit" to other countries
Now: Aisha Buhari has so far, kept a very low profile

Now, let us be clear that we all recognize that our Presidents are not "celibate" like catholic priest and do have a wife.
We also expect their wife to "help them" in a positive way but in a very quiet, "background' manner, like Mrs Gowon, the wife of our head of state back then.

Patience Jonathan many times, was very loud, rough, aggressive, comical, pedestrian, unrefined, uncouth, rabble-rousing and confrontational. she was simply an embarrassment to Nigeria and a disgrace to motherhood

These are some of the "qualities" that made Nigerians to detest her and the "office of the first lady", which she brought to disrepute!

No Nigerian is against the wife of their President, being a positive image of the country, contributing behind the scenes, to "humanitarian efforts" like helping the homeless, orphans, children, as long as she does it with decorum.

It is the husband Nigerians voted for, not the wife and anything she does, must be UNDER the auspices of her husband.
That she inherited the building used by her predecessor is no big deal, it is what she DOES "in and with" the building that counts!

The fact that her husband has made his 'policy statement' and she has abided by it, had worn her over to many Nigerians..... ......... unlike the uncultured Patience who won enemies for her husband wherever she went, especially with her "gabagaun grammar"!
Not to mention her meddling in the affairs of rivers state, leading to the death of many.

We have also not forgotten how her unnecessary "show of power" (or was it abuse of power) led tot he delay in the landing of the DANA Aircraft which eventually crashed after circling for hours and then running out of fuel in Iju area of Lagos, with the "roasting to death" of all on board!

Finally, until we see Aisha Buhari behaving in such reprehensible manner, until we see her usurping the role of the President, until we see her openly insulting the opponents of her husband with foul language, until we see her tackling a sitting Governor and removing his security details, until we see her using the likes of that useless Police man Mathew Mbu (he suddenly went quiet like a tamed dog after Buhari has won the election ), to harass and intimidate a state Governor, until that and many other foolish acts "unbecoming of a First lady", .....


Aisha Buahri will just be who she is: Wife of our amiable President.

Until then, PMB still stands on his words: No First Lady ... but wife of .Mr President.

NB: Its not the title that irks Nigerians really, it was the way Patience denigrated that title, afterall, Mariam Babangida was also a first lady just like Stella Obasanjo was one.

These ones never brought so much disrepute to womanhood, unlike Patience Jonathan who if l may add, was one of the reasons Nigerians totally rejected her husband, even as an incumbent President!

I hope to-date, though it is still early days, you have seen the difference between the two.
..and Please, No more #Wailing over this for now.... wait till she mis-steps or misbehave ....and you will be justified in calling her out.
