I was a student of Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, FUTO, Owerri. I dropped out in my Yr 3. FUTO education sucked. It was hell for me. It made me hate and fear Engineering, and it also made me hate Nigerian education. When I dropped out, I started looking to study abroad in the US. I just want to leave this country for good. I feel through education will be a way out. I just picked Psychology because I feel it's a major that will not put too much stress on my brain - no thanks to my FUTO nightmare - but when I started reading about how f***d up Psychology major is, I'm beginning to have a change in mind. I have already developed a phobia for Engineering and I don't think I would love "Jesus to be crucified a second time" so I'm not looking towards Engr. lol.

It's not like I'm one dunce or something. As a matter of fact, I was among the overall best three students of my set in secondary school, FGC, so I'm academically okay. My brain used to be hot, but it just feels like all has fallen apart since I got admitted to FUTO.
I'll be looking to rekindle my fire, but I don't want to rope myself again with a difficult major like Engineering that's why I was looking in the direction of Psychology which I believe is an easy way out. But since I'd really love to remain in this US, Psyche is a no-no according to ya.
Those courses you listed there, I'll surely look into them. They seem appealing. I'd also appreciate if you can give me more options of majors you feel is good and that I'll be interested in. Science majors would do. Thanks for showing some interest in my issue.

lolz. There is no cheap course in U.S. To deal with the course is one thing, to deal with the stringent educational drill in U.S is another thing.

U.S education is not for the weak, it's tougher and makes sense than that of Nigeria, and it has no terrible professors like in Nigeria.

Gboyegba no vex jawe. I saw a post somone said Slimmy told him I am homeless. I have never pm Slimmy or talked to him. We were never friends .How will he say shittt I never even know about. Houston is the last place anyone will be homeless.

It's disheartening and I need an explanation. I have helped folks here both academically and even with accommodation .#notbragging# they can testify. So why will anyone say trash about me. Ask him what the beef is about.

Oh yeah... I know there's no course that is "easy".
One just has to know what he can /can't do. Only a few people can fit into just anything.

Some people call it "aeroplane ears".
Happened to me while landing in Frankfurt and then Chicago. Terrible experience.
I got a pair of ear plugs thereafter and life was so much better while landing.

Did you read the Femifanikayode response to me? It is obvious he is a troll and might be out to detail the thread. People can say all things just to disrupt a peaceful situation. Try to ignore such post when you read them.

This is my first post on this thread.

Have you considered neuroscience? It is an interdisciplinary science that overlaps psychology, biology, genetics, computer science, mathematics, medicine, and linguistics.

If you choose to study neuroscience, you would be able to choose which aspect you want to focus on. So for instance, you could focus primarily on the psychology and biology subsets, or you could focus on the computer science and mathematics subsets, or linguistics and genetics, or ...

The advantage of neuroscience is you would be able to choose a combination of classes that give you skills valuable in a place like Naija or wherever. Also neuroscience would enable you to go to graduate school in psychology, should you later decide to do that. Or you could go to graduate school in biology, or whichever area related to neuroscience you end up becoming most interested in.

" I want to study in the US but I'm in dilemma as to which course (major) I'm to study that would be beneficial when I come back here to Nigeria. I wanted to study Psychology but from the reviews from American students and graduates, they say Psychology isn't a very good major in USA owing to the fact that it has one of the lowest paid salaries and high unemployment rate. Can a Psychology degree be useful in Nigeria for me? If not, what course would you advise me to study that would have a high ROI?
