The youths of Afikpo and its environs are staging a massive protest over the total blackout and neglect by the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, EEDC for over a year now. An honorable member of Ebonyi House, HON Maria-Ude Nwachi(Afikpo Chick) has tried severally with her personal money to fix the light issue, but seems like EEDC are not co-operating.

YOUTHS OF THESE DAYS AND THEIR QUICK TO BEEN VIOLENT BEHAVIOUR.

GOD HELP US.

I BLAME EEDC. HOW CAN THEY KEEP PEOPLE WHO DO BUSINESS IN THE DARK OVER A YEAR. THEY DESERVE MORE THAN THIS.

I VISITED MY UNCLES SINCE THURSDAY SOMEWHERE IN APAPA AND I NOTICED THERE WAS NO POWER SINCE SATURDAY AFTERNOON.

I JOKINGLY ASKED MY UNCLES WIFE WHO IS YORUBA WHOM I HAVE A GOOD RAPPORT WITH; WHY THERE WAS NO LIGHT.

SHE IMMEDIATELY CALLED A SENIOR OFFICE HOLDER AT THEIR OPERATION BASE AND BELIEVE ME LIGHT WAS RESTORED IN LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES.

I WAS HAPPY ABOUT THAT BUT IT MADE ME SAD WITHIN ME. NOT EVERYONE HAS SUCH CONTACT AND THOUGH EVERY OTHER PERSONS PAY THEIR BILLS; SO WHY WILL A FEW HIJACK THE LIBERTY OF OTHERS.

THOUGH AS UNCLES WIFE THINGS I COULDN'T EXPRESS MY DISSATISFACTION.

I PRAY EEDC DO WHAT'S SHOULD BE DONE IN DUE TO PACIFY THE PEOPLE OF AFIKPO.

they overturned their vehicle? they will see light in their area like in 3 years time unless the people rallied and pay for a new vehicle even if this one had no wheels. no organization wicked like"NEPA"in this country even when you want to pay electricity bills they will insult you on top your own money too.

.They are not telling us the truth about the situation, they must be indebted to the distribution company, to the tune of several millions of naira, before the company will refuse to fix their power problem. The Edo state police headquarters have been running its affairs, with generator since January this year, because the headquarters is indebted to BEDC to the tune of several millions of naira.I will advise pmb to cancel the power privatization done by GEJ,because the distribution company he gave, are not genuinely react, to serve the people.
