Chyvy: Thank you mama, it is well o. She takes Cerelac, Gerber oatmeal and Friso Wheat. Once in a while she takes normal foods like amala, rice, mashed Irish potatoes, noodles but she's so addicted to the cereals that regardless of the quantity of normal food she takes, she only gets satisfied after taking cereal. She takes the cereals well. Yes, she's teething. I'm guessing it's because I gave her Cerelac about four times before daybreak last night all because of this weaning. I'll change it this night and reduce the number of feeds too. God bless you. @Rashomo. Thank you, I'm trying. |

Kimoni: Please I would like to know how best to store the expressed milk. For example, let's say I expressed 90 ml, n she drinks only 60 ml, can the remaining be stored again in the fridge or thrown away. also when is best to express, at work? Or after work. sorry for the long post, I work very far from where I live so I can't shuttle it in between during the day. So whatever I express will be used then formula will take over till I return. Please I need advice on how best to go about it. Thanks. |

corrall: What type of milk pump do you use? If available, you can get about 4 bottles from the same maker. You can then express the quantity he drinks per feed in each of these bottles and store them in the fridge. Try and keep them in a separate compartment in the fridge to keep the freshness. Using the same bottles reduces manual handling of the milk thereby reducing the risk of contamination. As per milk remnant, to avoid wastage, express just what he needs per feed in a bottle. But if there is any remnant, its not advisable to put it back in the fridge. Instead try and give it to him within the hr. If you have a fridge in the office, pls go ahead to express at work and keep it in the office freezer so it retains its temperature till you get home and then keep in the fridge for the next day. The breast is usually very full in the morning, so you can also express then but most importantly, just find the best time that suits you. 1 Like |

nefertitiram: Dairy and dairy products are known to cause colic in children. It is something to do with the proteins in dairy that are passed to the baby. I did the same thing, and I noticed my daughter's gas and crying reduced drastically. Not just dairy, things like nuts can also affect. |

corrall: Thawed milk should not be re-refrigerated or re-frozen. As Kimoni advised, ensure you get containers that you van fill with the exact amount she needs....give or take a few mls. It is very painful when BM wastes. Back then, I used to prefer wasting formula than BM lol. Milk can be stored at room temp for 6hrs In a fridge for 6 days In a fridge with a freezer combo for 6 weeks And in a stand alone freezer for 6mths 3 Likes |

suzzy16: you do not need the drug. it has more harm than good. like someone mentioned earlier, it is a hormonal drug. even when such drugs are prescribed to patients needing them, such patients are usually monitored. |

Chyvy:madam, coartem is safe while breastfeeding and even in some stages of pregnanc. you can use it. abi you want mosquito to transfer it to your baby. Please use it. forget about the long write up in the leaflet. your doctor knows that it is safe and that was why he prescribed it .It is not as if you are self medicating. |

Why do you need it? I've taken it before and it works. I did not react to it but u have to be absolutely sure u need it. So go convince ur doc, if ur doc just just prescribes it without asking u to go back and do it the natural way! He is quack! Lol. The drug needs prescription sha, my doc didn't tell me the name and its just a tablet. NB: you need to wear d firmest bra available in the market cos it dries up in two days. suzzy16: |

lovinam:Dats quite different from the one I used..... A long time ago I used a morning -after pill and I ended up leaking milk from my breast which is very abnormal cos it leads to infertility. My doc gave me d drug to use for 5days and I had no side effect. Dat drug is most times prescribed for ttc women to correct hormonal imbalance, guess dats d one chyvv is talking about. |

Itunup:I recommend dat u make it by yourself..ingredients- guinea corn(red colour), dried plantain, prawn. Carefully remove little stones, wash all thoroughly, grind together, sieve and store..change water on d pap everyday. Cook for 10-15 minutes and serve with milk. :Though,it's a stressful work to do...but it's better than buying already made pap. I hope this help. |
