ABUJA – NATIONAL leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, members of the Board of Trustees, BoT were Friday locked in a marathon meeting on problems affecting the party.
Vanguard gathered that the meeting which took place under the aegis, PDP National caucus, also had in attendance members of the National caucus, PDP governors and principal officers of PDP in the national assembly.
The meeting took place at the Ondo State governor’s Lodge, Asokoro, Abuja, with the Chairman, PDP governors forum and governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko presiding.
At the meeting, members discussed issues relating to how to move the party forward.
According to a source, how to reconcile members and to strengthen the party especially with regard to its new status as the opposition came up.
The source said that at the meeting, the need to hold a National Executive Committee, NEC meeting was also discussed.
Acting National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus led the leadership of the party to the meeting.
The meeting was the first of its kind since the party lost the March 28 Presidential election to the All Progressives Congress, APC after sixteen years of leadership.
