4 years now i've been sorrounded by friends that are atheist.Almost everyday we argue If actually there's God or not.I've always believed there's God,tho i've not seen him.But jst recently d points made by my atheist frnds keep ringging a strong bell in my mind and now i've missed Sunday service 4 about 4straight sundays and stil counting..now i'm begining to think there's no God up there.How do i get back on track?? i've received advices to quit d frndship with my atheist frnds,but that will not be healthy for my accademic life. Guys help!

You are free to think. I mean you are free to think. But don't call it thinking like an Atheist. Think as a human first. I mean you should think like a person first. See the words they say. See the things around you.

There are few intelligent people here. Don't be fooled by sweet words. Ask questions. Question everything. The words. The reason they sound sweet to you. Why in your confusion you still cling to God. Your environment. Question your questions.

as we speak now, vatican, the arch bishops, pentecostal general overseers, etc are investing billion of money in institutions, enterprises,
expanding their global enterprises in versatility.
these are the same masters that told/still telling us to forsake earthly things and be on steady alert for jesus will come unexpectedly to take us all to a paradise in the sky.
doesn't it occur to you that something is wrong somewhere

take a good look at the general overseer of your church, does he look like someone who is waiting for a sudden coming of jesus ??

The problem you have is dealing with uncertainty.

Religious people have "beliefs" not fact, and surely not certainty.

You are just realising this and it's hard to handle.

Most atheist do not say there is no God. They only can say they have no believe in God.

"Believe and Certainty". If you distinguish this two properly, you begin to doubt believes because religion do not present facts.

Lastly, if believing isn't enough. Being uncertain about life seems like being lost and belonging to no where. I mean, how do you live a life like you have no purpose, your consciousness is just a mistake. Life seems worthless without religion, you can't accept that you are any different from other animals except that you are self-conscious.
Being an atheist is a hard pill to swallow. But religion remains only believe, and when you realise this, you find yourself in this state.
But you'll find a way to deal with it eventually.

BOLDED, Christianity is a practical where people are encouraged to leave their friends and family for no just cause. Since i became an atheist, i maintained my relationship with my friends and family despite differences in our individual worldviews.

BRO follow your instinct and questions those things you were indoctrinated from your childhood, if you find no reasons and justifications to continue believing, quite, there is no reason cheating yourself while you have a clear notion that something don't exist.

Op.....I like the fact that you don't wanna quit friendship with your atheist friends because they intelligent and a source of your academic strength.

Right,If your friends whom are intelligent thinks anti-God,Doesn't that also mean you stuck in the abyss and need to learn from your intelligent friends so you keep up the intelligent pace with them? Because obviously you learning from them what you don't know and what if I told you religion is one thing you don't know but your intelligent friends are trying to set you straight mentally.

Secondly,Our bias affects our critical thinking! It normal but only the intelligent can separate bias in process of critical and analytical thinking,that's just the difference between you and your intelligent friends.

Yea i like your illustration with hungry. He knows when he is hungry and don't need a book to tell him that. A book telling you what to believe when you have reasons not to, is within yourself.

Can you ever be 100% certain? You should always be open to the possibility of being wrong for one reason or another. Humility should be a primary trait for someone who prefers reason over faith. However, I can accept that 2+2 =4 with conviction because all other answers are falsifiable.
