First, no unreserved apology and acknowledgement of wrongdoing has ever been communicated even on his behalf. The so-called emissaries only tried to justify or cover up the obvious intent of such utterances. He is the only one that can actually convey remorse for making such hateful statements and allowing others do his job for him amounts to further rubbing it in the faces of those he threatened. Even a child u beat up will keep crying and seeking attention till u comfort him or her then how much more intelligent adults and fellow Nigerians! If he is truly regretful then it is not too much to ask for him to take responsibility for hos words and own up to them! If he mustered so much pride and high handedness as 'a whole Oba' to make such statements then he should be humane and humble enough to apologise and make amends. That is the hallmark of a great leader...being able to own up to mistakes and make up for them.

Nobody is going to demand his head on a platter but an acknowledgement and apology even going further to enjoin his subjects to embrace peace with the people he threatened and vilified will suffice. In as much as he is too much of an Oba to do so then the affected people are free to keep that dog awake! If he did not send emissaries to attack then he should not send them to cover-up.

If there had been reparation there would be no need to demand such justice according to u. The Nigerian govt having denied a people the right to self-determination and in the process ravaged their regions has not done anything geared towards restoration and re-integration. I think this country has more pressing issues than focusing on an Oba's negative statement. It's a joke to think that the ICC would even prosecute such cases. Last time I checked there's something called freedom of speech and since the Oba's position is not an elected position, I see no reason why we continue to make a mockery of ourselves. Many of you might feel what the Oba said was hateful and quite frankly I feel the same way but is there a law that prohibits free speech or are we just letting our sentiments control us?
