OP, It's Akpajo, Eleme LGA. Not Akpaja. Meanwhile that's not the road to Port-Harcourt refinery, the road that leads to PH refinery is Alesa Junction linking to Okrika (Patience Jonathan hometown).

Finally, I don't understand the Ogoni's problem, they always behave possessed. No wonder they are hated by other tribes in Rivers state

The worst reason to embark on a protest I've ever seen.

Jonathan was there for almost six years and you didn't do a single protest on your plight.

A new president, in less than two months of his tenure, approved fast tracking of implementation of the UNEP report to address your sufferings, then you come up with this type of protest? And when such president decides to treat you differently for your foolishness, you will start crying blue murder.

They want the cleaning contract awarded to them. I listened to an interview on Channels TV where one of the Chiefs made the statement. Instead of them to be happy, they are busy protesting. Before the end of today, another group(s) may organize a counter-protest all in the name of recognition.

Nigerians are too funny... While some people are busy saying Buhari is too slow, some are talking of his fast actions.

May God help us all because we sometimes act like we are too wise but actually some people turn out foolish after being brainwashed.

What are they protesting for if not that somebody has brainwashed them?

The whole thing makes no sense, 1 man cries one thing and another says another thing. They should send in the police to pack them away for psychiatric evaluation in Edo State.

Sometimes, I wonder what is the problem with many Niger Deltans (am from the region though). These persons are just out to make trouble! In August 4, 2011, United Nations Environment Protection (UNEP) released their report and recommendations for the highly polluted Ogoniland which is supposed to follow the the principle of 'polluters pay' meaning She'll Petroleum that operated there largely and was responsible for the pollution should fund the cleanup of the land. They had their so called person as the President that couldn't do anything about it for the past four years and now in a few months, PMB has recognised the issue and willing to facilitate the speedup of the overdue cleanup and they're there protesting for due process. What due process should be followed to cleanup your environment for you? Paying royalties? 'Settling' youths or what? Has due process actually helped? rather it slows down the processes and make it more clumsy.
And for the so called Ogoni self governance/resource control is a dream that may never come true.
Them better dey charge the polluters and the presidency to keep to their words rather than to dey carry placards say due process and sovereignty. I advice the youths to go find job for now and if opportunities come from their land, good for them too.

Yorubas come and tell us how much the SS hates Biafra after 50years of pollution by the Nigerian State. cheesy

Don't mind them, they are clinging on to SS because that is where their "honey pot" is. So while they eat their "honey" the "honey" bearers (SS) suffers.

Protesting against clean up of their own land. If this is their stand then Buhari should equally neglect them like Jonathan.

Misguided folks! Get a nationalist spirit by negotiating your way. Fight corruption to a standstill and entrench good governance - that's what is needed.

The South-South don't hate Biafra, they just are not interested in being a Part of it.

They have oil, the east has very likkle..

They have Gas, The East has none.

They have been President for 6years and Vice for another 2 as Vice, the East has not been either.

The SS has more to lose than gain from Biafra. In Biafra, they would still be Minorities and would have to deal with the Igbos vs the remaining Minorities. Biafra has nothing to offer the SS..

Stop lumping them into your Biafra.. if Nigeria ever splits, the Divide would birth atleast 5 Nations.
