Eke40seven: Eke, ogagaejay made a very important post, you would be surprised ,how fast those refugees are getting legal documentation right now in Germany and working legally. He said it pure and blunt, learn German and improve your chances. |

NO! Bundesregierung know wetin dem dey do, a little prediction, abeg make una fire all una application as soon as possible before a repetition of 2005/2007 no happen with re introduction of tuition fees to block incoming. My 2 cents. |

Obiwannn: Get someone who has a funded dollar card to pay online for you, and then transfer the naira equivalent to the person's Naira account. Or get someone abroad & do the same thing. Otherwise, book through wakanow (if you are still fortunate to get the same fare) and pay the naira value. Last option is going to the airline's office and paying for your reservation (and not a fresh booking). Beware that you may pay some additional service charge for that. NB: You're not bypassing any exchange rates though. Your card transactions normally bear a 2-3% increase to the interbank rate for obvious reasons. |

lmuhopeful: Lols..dey there.... they can also acquire education if they wish...Unibremen has opened his doors to migrants under a special program https://www.uni-bremen.de/en/international/ways-to-the-university-of-bremen/ub-for-refugees.html and there re some skilled fellas among them too WE ARE ALL MIGRANTS...and I dont see any reason for the fear mongering The more people in this country the more jobs re created...there will be shortage of facilities..the need for new ones will arise and jobs re created taxes re paid and cycle continues...The German govt knows what they re doing. Value added tax is 19% (aside food stuffs and soms basic things) so if u spend just 200 euros in this country today, the german govt will earn 38 euros.... NB: asylum seekers dont need to wait for their asylum t be approved once they ve the temporary stay..they just look for a lady to ve a baby for them and boom...Residency don show...YES ..thats how they roll In all as a student u will be fine no need for fear mongering ..WE ARE ALL MIGRANTS. @Ogagejay...lols they re drainin brains ..brain drain is when highly qualified workers migrate from their country in search of better pay or improved livin conditions, leadin to shortage of experienced workers in such countries...Nigeria will top any list for countries experiencin brain drain. 2 Likes |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Eke40seven(m): 7:20am On Aug 24, 2015 |
ogagaejay:Its not as rosy for them as you think. May be you should consider this: "Asylum seekers in Germany aren’t allowed to work at all within their first year of applying for asylum. Afterwards they can apply to get a work permit that allows them to work. The work permit may only be issued if the job CAN'T be offered to a German, EU citizen or other “LEGAL FOREIGNERS” in Germany already. The income asylum seekers can receive is regulated by §7 of the Asylbewerberleistungsgesetz (AsylbLG). An asylum seeker in Germany may not earn anything more than €1,05 an hour. If they find a job that pays more than this, the “excess” is taken by the state as payment for taking care of the asylum seeker." The drivers license thing futurewiser talked about may/IS just one of those jobs described above. 4 Likes |

iBanj:Turkish doesnt have d pay via bank option. wakanow seems the only alternative, but i couldnt get the option of selecting my preffered seats via wakanow booking website. do u knw hw to go about this? |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 8:47am On Aug 24, 2015 |
Obiwannn:I don't know how wakanow.com works but normally, on some airlines u can only choose sits 24 hours before ur flight. When u check in online u can then pick a seat. It normally costs 33 dollars depending on the position u choose but sometimes it's free also. What airline is it? |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by mostyg(m): 9:02am On Aug 24, 2015 |
Obiwannn: If you are in Lagos go to their office at Plot 1, Wing B, South Atlantic Petroleum Towers, 2nd Floor, Adeola Odeku Street, Victoria Island, Lagos. There is no extra charge for your booking as long as at it is still valid (within 48 hrs). Payment will confirm the booking. You may even get a cheaper fare at their office. Talk to any of the ladies on the counter to find a cheap airfare for you. If she found something cheaper then you can ask her to make a fresh booking, if not just present your own and make payment. |

mostyg:Really grateful for your reply... So by this, u are implying that it is not impossible for one to select preferred (window) seats on wakanow? And to do this one has to place a call thru\visit their office? XpensiveT, hearty congratulatory cheers to you... Wetin do ur phone na? *singing* <One by One, We don dey go.. > |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Obiwannn: 9:59am On Aug 24, 2015 |
zeeblamj:Thanks for ur reply ma'am..Its turkish. I did a pseudo-booking directly thru their site and also via wakanow and on the former, there's an option to select seats during the booking process unlike the latter which is just plain booking. And yeah, some are free, some paid, depending on the amount of leg-room. <chuckles> I really need a window seat... |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 10:03am On Aug 24, 2015 |
Obiwannn:U might have to pay for the window seat. Most times they charge 33 dollars for it. But I still think that after the booking and payment on wakanow.com so u don't have to pay with ur card using their outrageous exchange rates or something. After use ur booking reference on the Turkish air website to choose a window seat. U might be lucky to find a free one. If it's a big plane, don't choose seat 27 area. U can choose 10 in front or 30 something. Go a bit in d middle. U get a better view outside if the wings of the plane are not directly beside u. Good luck. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

zeeblamj: Spoke with the airline on Saturday and was informed by the customer rep that service charge may be payable if online ticket reservation is purchased/paid for in person. I don't think it applies to a fresh booking in the office. Her position may/may not be valid; but that's the feedback as at Saturday. For wakanow, just call 01-2773010 or 07009252669 or any of their other numbers to request seat selection after booking with them. They can sort this out. You may have to stand your ground on this, else the lady may tell you they don't do it; but just politely let her know that it can be done. Seat selection is free on the major airlines - and THY- if you are not looking for extra legroom or other convenience features (well, depends on seat type and if you are also selecting seats for return flight). Window seats are free as well (at least the ones on THY are and the others I've checked/booked recently) - it's all about where you get extra legroom, for which you pay. If you have a roundtrip ticket, it's pointless selecting seats just now if your return isn't in 3 months time. 1 Like 1 Share |
