I think you are already there so I ask you leave clues as schools and useful links like steps. I considered leaving a pm but I don't know. I just need stuff like a tip or clues that serve as guide. Would you recommend your Uni and what are my chances of getting funding? |

Walspring: There could be further notice if the person is sincere. She could approach a friend and explain her situation or even a member of her religious group if she is active and humble. In all, I wish her the best. For those who are quick to judge people because of their present situation, kindly desist from such act and instead, be kind to all and grateful to God. 3 Likes |

HoneyBronzed: It depends on seller instructions. Typically, expensive stuffs are not left by your door. They'll try to redeliver and if not successful, you'd have to go pick it up or it will be sent back. I would call whatever the courier company is-FedEx,UPS,USPS with the tracking number to get specific delivery information.. 1 Like |

foohard: F-1 students will always have 12 months to work after studies on OPT provided they've not used it up in previous advanced degree or Pre-OPT. The contention is about the extension for S.T.E.M. grads....and IT jobs are everywhere if you're skilled and know your way around. 1 Like |

GboyegaD:Seems the person is just arriving from Nig and might not be able to have any religious group or anything. What I advice just arriving is to have at least 3-6 mths rent till they are able to make friends and find a way out. Nothing is free in America. Not everyone can to take people in their home for free. |

GboyegaD:First, the only Nigerians who will offer such help are those who are still in status. The ones who are on the run are all out to make money and would stick with the mentality of payment rather than throwing a helping hand. A lot of us came here without any accommodation plans and we were able to get some help. Quite a few nairalanders who are presently in ETSU would give account of the reception they received from fellow Nigerians without the mentality of "nothing is free". If she has cash to spare she can get someone to stay with. But note that quite a few on here have made their house a lodge for money making ventures, mind you we still have few on here who are not money hungry. |

iphyconsult:Hotels would be quite expensive in Florida, you would have made arrangement from your school all this while. I pray you find a good Samaritan. Don't be in a hurry to get a line, get to school and meet people who have family/ group plan you can join, its cheaper that way. 1 Like |

The lady just stamped ma passport to enter UK for a day to get an hotel, entry 19th aug, and exit 20th aug, no course to work or recourse to public funds, she directed me and showd me a way out. i got to d baggage reclaim section and got my bag within 10min, I QUICKLY picked d 1-20 tried exiting , only to meet other 5 border control officers. These pple really dazed me, went thru all my docs, read everytin in them one after d other , my boxers everythin was checked. Asked both resonable and unreasonable questions. A yoruba lady was among d officers cos i realised tht her English na Naija own, she chkd me and told her oga to allow me go. In d end , the lady just spoke yoruba to me tht ''ma da awon ara ibi yi loun jare'' bi won se ma n se niyen(say make i no mind dem , na so dem they do wen dem see naija peeps). she apologised to me and told me she graduated from unilag. Before i knew it, i saw myself in the london city because of d one day entry i was given. heathrow too nah fine place and it was cold tht day. i didnt rent any hotel oo, went bak to d heathrow airport, slept on a chair till d fllwg day. When it was 12.35 d fllwg day i moved in and connected my flight to miami. Peeps flight was supposed to move 13.05, he no move ohh, we were in d plane for 4hr.15 because plane just developd fault.see fear. it was repaired for 4hrs before it took off on 20th, meanwhile my orientation nah 21st, class start 22nd. i didnt want poe issue @all. i was supposed to arrived miami on 20th by 5.05pm. i got there 9.00pm. the pilot promised to b fast and he did. iphyconsult: Hotels I'm FL are pretty high especially if you don't have a prior reservation... You shoulda asked your school to help you make one. As a last resort, you can look for hotels close to your school, sometimes they have a special student discount. I tried to contact the only person I know in Tampa but he has moved out of FL. Apartments should be easy enough just check Craiglist. Please be careful with Craiglist though. About a SIM card... That generally depends on your budget. However, make sure the plan you opt for can support blackberry services. I know for a fact that T-mobile does cos that's what I use currently. A $40 plan on T-mobile or Simple mobile can give you limited talk and text with 1gig high speed internet. Goodluck! 1 Like |

iphyconsult: Welcome...God wey bring you enter go see you through... You can use lyca mobile, cheapest I know of. 19 dollars per month, and you can do a top up of 10 dollars for international calls that will last you 6 hrs... so every month you load 38 dollars...good thing is calls here are unlimited, and sms too. But the Internet with lyca mobile may not be as fast as other more expensive ones...I also use z10, pending when I go fit upgrade to Samsung or I phone...all the best bro |
