willy2000: Abi, I wonder too oooo. Even with this "Now she spends her days shuttling between her university in Tübingen, her boyfriend’s flat in Cologne, and her mother’s house in Stuttgart. Every week she clocks up between 750 and 1,250 miles on the plush high-speed ICE trains that connect Germany’s major cities. All she carries with her is a simple travel bag with a change of clothes, a tablet computer and a washbag. The rest of her belongings are stored in boxes at her mother’s house. She washes in the train’s on-board loos". This is going to be cumbersome for any International student. Me wey my mama dey Ekiti, I go shutle come Ekiti ni? or if the girlfriend decided to throw me out because she is jealous or something may be at the middle of the night, where I go come go? car park? Hence, it is not advisable for International students #IMO 1 Like |

Cindino20: LIVE AND LETS LIVE! How i wish everyone can have this ideology instead the opposite is always the case. Accepting international student is different from accepting asylum seekers. International students contribute enormously to the economy while the later receive from the economy. Do you know it is been debated if they should stop giving money and giving out stamps instead. It's a good thing to accept migrants into your country and show love to them also. But from another perspective, are the migrants also ready to integrate fully ? That is the questions most Germans ask. They already know what Islamic people are capable of doing, Turkey comes to mind. Mind you, Germany is a christian Country and not multi-religious like Nigeria. Some people are of the view that accepting large amount of People from another religious background different from the host country may in future do more harm than good. This argument can be debated upon without reaching a conclusion, then France comes to mind. I read the number this year will rise up to 800,000 and you can imagine how enormous that is. There are lots of question begging for answers. How do they intend to integrate them? Will they return back to their country, when the war is over? Knowing too well how conservative most Germans are. Personally I feel Germany is doing okay but like we all know, too much of every thing is bad. Please don't crucify me oh, I have Muslim friends in Nigeria, who are like brothers to me and also have a very nice Syrian friend here in Germany, unfortunately my German Syrian friend has a bitter opinion against the west. I can't blame him because he came here as an immigrant thanks to USA and co. I really wish this was happening to USA then it would have been an icing on the cake 2 Likes |

honourableseyi: I was not expecting anybody to really do what the lady did. I only shared the article for information purpose only. Is there anyone that would go for accommodation as high as 340Euro (cost of train ticket) plus the discomfort on the train. No Nigerian I know of would ever do this. I read the article and understood it before posting 1 Like |

Hello all , I booked a one way ticket with wakanow.com and they called 2 ask the visa i was travelling with. I told them student visa . They asked how long was written on it i said 90 days to be converted to 2 yrs or so when i get there. They said I must get a return ticket or i might get disturbed by immigration. PLEASE HOW THRU IS THIS ? |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by yusufftaiwo(m): 5:12pm On Aug 24, 2015 |
kuthvic:Simply not correct... the person dat called u isn't well informed... |
Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Nobody: 5:24pm On Aug 24, 2015 |
kuthvic:Not true. Tell them u have a national visa. That's where u got it wrong. When they asked what u had, what they wanted to hear was jjc language so they can take money from u. That's airlines for u. They charge u for cancellation when u get to Germany and u don't need the return ticket anymore. Just tell them u are traveling with a national visa and that's it. The airline has nothing to do with where u are going. And they are lying to u. No immigration officer in his right mind would ask for a return ticket if u have a national visa. |

At last...Thank God. I finally got the visa approval mail today, I had my interview on 23rd July, it took about one month. I want to sincerely thank everyone who has kept this thread alive, providing every necessary info and tips- you guys are awesome. The names are many 'Motherly' Zeeblamj, Eke40seven, Walesby, and you. My experience Last week Thursday i called the alien office in my City (after waiting for exactly one month), the man i spoke with told me they were still waiting for the german embassy to forward my Deutsche bank confirmation. I was shocked because i forwarded my DB confirmation 1 week after my interview. I asked him for his email, he gave me and i forwarded the document to him but he replied that he would still wait for the embassy to forward it to them before approving the visa. When i received his response, i quickly sent a subtle reminder mail to the embassy, its content was like "I am writing because i did not receive any confirmation of receipt from the embassy when i sent my Deutsche Bank account credit confirmation last month. Kindly find the confirmation attached should it be that my earlier mail was not received". My experience reveals that the embassy may delay visa approvals by failing to send the documents early enough as in my case. May God hasten the approval of other visa hopefuls. 22 Likes 3 Shares |

Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by daimlerbenz: 10:51pm On Aug 24, 2015 |
In my school, the main thrust is condensed matter physics. A little optics and photonics (we didn't get to pick them as options though). Prospects? If you have good grades, they will usually want you to stay. Also note that na Physics these people dey chop. The guy that discovered quantum Hall effect dey here for the Max Planck institute(Nobel prize winner) Neyoalao: 1 Like |
