I did a cover of darey's "pray for me" and it got reposted on his wall. And i got about 900likes in just hours.

a little googling on how to use it could have helped you.

I like Don Jazzy style of picking talent. It will make his label explode as he infuse new blood into it... But unfortunately, he can't do it all. If others were like him, we won't have the kind of rubbish in the industry today.

Put yourself in their shoes, if about 300, 000 people are following you, how many requests will you be getting per day, how many can you respond to?

The key is to have something very, very special to showcase and to keep promoting it everyday, never relent and never give up. You don't even need to pester the established stars, one of them will discover you one day as your works spread.
