The popular shoe plaza in aba popularly know as bakassi is a very big industrial market which provides shoes, sandals etc for people in cheap and affordable prices. Their shoes gets transported to as far as Ghana,Togo,Gabon etc Its a pity that a market that generates so much in revenue to the State is left to wallow in ruins by the government. A look at the state of its road will tell you more.

Buhari Administration needs to probe all local government administration. This tier of government have been left with no supervision of what they do. The level of corruption is disturbing especially in the southeast and south south |

abia state parade the most cruel and greedy leaders, in fact they are heartless. I say so because if you reach there, you must wept. All good roads put together is less than 100 km. In that state. |

Immediately I saw Aba, I wasn't surprised. As a Lagos born and bred, I know about bad roads small but the filth and rot of Aba roads shake my mind. I witnessed how water almost carried one keke away one rainy day on Milverton road the last time I visited. 1 Like |

Flooding is common problem this season. The past government of that state didn't seem to have worked either. 4 Likes |

Years of federal government neglect. As a normal policy of holding them down at all cost. And equally, the state government should share in the blame of the backwardness of these places. Because certain people do not want to see you progress doesn't mean you should help them. All parts of Nigeria its fair share of bad leadership, but complaining and whining about it isn't the solution. The igbos should try as much as possible to elect technocrats who really want to move their individual states forward. With or without the FG. And lastly, they should engage more in politics. Life isn't all about the quantity of money you make. But the impact you make around your surrounding. The igbos should change this mentality of it doesn't concern me. Or everyman for himself....it usually back fires |

I knew many fools will fall for this! The op said plaza, I didn't see anything like plaza in those pictures. Okadda was banned in Aba many years ago, how come I'm seeing pictures of Okadda riders? You people should stop using Aba to taunt the Igbos. We know Aba is a dirty city just like the rest of Nigerian cities but it shouldn't warrant you bigots to bring a picture of where I don't know and tag it Aba. There's nothing in that picture that suggests that that place is Aba if not for flooding and dirtiness which synonymous with almost every part of Nigeria. I challenge this OP to prove beyond reasonable doubts that the place in the pictures is Aba! Not saying inefficient governments shouldn't be expose, though. |

Lordave: Please,if you stay in aba, let me give you the direction to shoe plaza (bakassi). It has like 3 routes which i will give you here. 1) board a keke or bus to osisioma, cross the road to the other side, enter a keke that is going to flyover and tell the keke driver your stopping by bakassi.he will stop you in front of century valley hotel.cross the road and walk into shoe plaza(bakassi). 2) board a bus or keke that is going to faulks road/ariaria. Stop by samek, board another keke and tell him to stop you at shoe plaza(bakassi). If he stops you, you walk into bakassi. 3) board a keke or bus to mcc junction by China town building abayi. Cross the road and enter another keke which will stop you at mcc by tonimas road. You cross the road again and board another keke to bakassi. I don't know which part of Aba u stay,so out of the 3 routes, you can choose the one u find easier and go and see for yourself. It is called shoe plaza because that's what its supposed to be but that the government has left it in neglect. I don't think i have much more to say than what I have said. 1 Like 1 Share |

htconeline: I haven't seen anyone make a tribalism statement on this post until yours came. It always seems the igbos brew tribalism while some other tribes try to cajole them into such. No one has said the Yorubas caused that please. |

Nna, me thinking that, the river may have a link to atlantic ocean.the only thing the government needs to do is to build the first biafra seaport in that market to serve as export and import base for their fake products. |

Whoever is responsible for that road should thank their star that we are not in China. Just yesterday we heard the guy heading their stock market was kidnapped just because their stock prices were done for a couple of days. Imagine what they would have done to the person that is responsible for this road. |

the LGC and governor is their tribesman, they like reading his igbo name on newspaper. so, he can chop the money allocated for the road on their behalf...you get? No one really needs to be good enough for the job anymore, he just needs to be my freakn brother. |
