I discovered that to enjoy most of the services offered on the Hot 2, you definitely need a Gmail account.
Some folks have not activated their Gmail accounts and this may resolve a lot of the issues they have been facing.

Though I still haven't rooted mine because of some earlier reportage of bricking. I'm curious, did you use the specific build that @bigtt76 had success with? Which is v4.5.0 (120). Mind you, there are several builds within v4.5.0. Also, were you connected to the internet while rooting? Because it requires an active net connection.

the network wasn't stable so I had to try rooting it several times I also tried replacing king user with super su maybe that's why it got bricked
