I believe we should all stop this uproar about the Kitchen cabinet of out president, there is nothing like sectionalism here.Kitchen cabinet is not a Federal character.it is about you bringing in the people that are competent and technocrat around you, time of Mediocre padi padi government is gone so all what we should do is to think out of the box and support the government that is getting things right... 1 Like |

Some useless people will always come with useless thread to defend failure, go back to the past administration appointment. In Nigeria the winner takes it all has being our send back that is why Kano has 44 local govt (biggest in Nigeria) and still turn around beg for money generated from oil. We need a genuine change of sysetm restructuring, defining Nigeria nationally. 1 Like 1 Share |

Sweetlemon: What the clowns are also forgetting is that Buhari will make atleast 1,000 appointments. So far he has only made 43 meaning he has made less than 5% of the total appointments. Once the ministerial appointments are made, watch people lose interest in his other appointments. 3 Likes |

if Nigerians had to chose between a. having majority of appointees from one section of the country and in return there will be constant electricity supply, more jobs and less unemployment, better infrastructure,an almost non-existent corrupt political class and a Nigeria that works and b. observing an archaic federal character and we continue as we are. I wonder which one Nigerians will chose. My point is this: Buhari is appointing those he knows he can work with to deliver his campaign promises. fine with me and works for me. ours is to watch and observe, 4yrs will soon be up. we will examine his score card. if he has done Well we give him thumbs up, he failed woefully, it won't be because he had to follow some dumb federal character. we will tell him then that we gave a free hand and he didn't deliver. then there will be No excuse. like the OP said, chill and let's watch. 4 Likes |

I can vividly remember the first 3 months of President Obama in White house,he appoint almost all is former staffs from Chicago as is kitchen cabinet and even making the present Chicago mayor Raheem Emmanuel is Chief of Staff.American as a democratic country that believe in there president never ridicule there president rather they support him.this is the time Nigeria should unite and lets support our president for job well done... 7 Likes 3 Shares |

Quick advise for the OP... Pull your head outta Buhari's arse before you start looking like his 93 year old shiiiit. Very senseless thread trying to justify Buhari's gaffe. How much were you paid?? So there are no technocrats from other regions in Nigeria...how Qualified are those mallams that are not "Awon goons mi"? Have you really checked Buhari's relationship with the people he's appointed so far or your itchy fingers just feel like typing rubbish? |

@OP Thinking outside the box doesn't necessary mean you will get it right. A Nigerian president must appoint his key cabinet based on all u have highlighted but also include a valid constitutional rule which is federal character. He has really missed on that. Executive, legislative, armed forces, paramilitary, etc and very soon the Judiciary. Muslims or christians isn't the point here but the proper distribution based on zones. You say we should wait and see what magic he will come up with, remember all decisions have both the positive and negative ends. He is more on the negative. What other key appointment remains? Ministers of finance and defence? The financial aspects of Nigeria now is fully being run by the CBN and forget the puppet that will be made defence minister. There are credible non northerners in Nigeria.... I may be wrong with my analysis but I'm thinking outside the box here. One Nigeria I stand! |

Being apolitical myself, am all for competence and getting the job done, however OP I've got just one question for you, when it gets to the benefits, say FG scholarship or recruitment, are we still going to strongly advocate for and maintain that individual ability be the criteria or shall we fall back to the federal character quagmire?? |
Re: Let's Look At Buhari's Appointments From Another Angle by basilo101: 11:28pm On Aug 28, 2015 |
geopolitical zones, though unconstitutional, was created to take care of minorities. SW for yorubas, SE for Igbos, NW for hausa. NE and NC for northern minorities and SS for southern minorities, any appointment that is equitably distributed within the geopolitical zones automatically takes kia of the minorities. hausas hav been dominating the north who have more minorities that are more culturally distinct but collaborate with yorubas to divide east even those with same culture and language |

adamshuaib:Even you did not read it with open mind. I tell you no logic can justify / successfully defend this misstep of the president. Anyone who supports the insensitive appointments is a blind and naive supporter of Buhari. Do you know there is a part of Nigerian constitution that talks about "federal character"? |
