To all those on this thread, to those in Netherland, and to the intending ones; I will us to take a critical look at moving to Netherlands. Is it really worth it?

1. We spend a lot to get the Visa, I know what Nigerians go through before getting Visa in Ghana
2. The large sum spent on flight is another palaver on its own
3. You discover that though Netherlands is not so much a racial community, you will only find large concentration of blacks in Amsterdam
4. The balcks over there are in either barbing, driving of Taxi, or other related services. You just don't get jobs like we do in Nigeria
5. The schools here are nice but expensive, but after school, what next?
6. Most of or guys here in order to have a foothold have to marry the Locals either you like it or not
7. The weather is not as friendly as ours
8. I discovered that most moving out are either in their late 20's or early 30's, when do you want to settle down down and start enjoying the joy of family life.
9. Learning the Language is another thing you must do before you have any headway. Infact you must pass their exam.
10. For the first one to two years, it is evident that one can't do anything because of language barrier

After going through all the above, what do one end up as? I have taken my time to go round and discovered that most blacks don't work in offices. This is not to discourage those intending to travel to Netherland but to get them prepared for what to meet here.

I know so many people will be out to critize my earlier post whether there's nothing good in Netherland. There's a lot that can be enjoyed here

1. The economy is better

Where in Netherlands are you, and I think this doesn't have to do with Netherlands. Its something that affect most non english countries. However, I think the US is better

You missed out the trams which are used around towns and the Trains for between towns and all over Europe.

Plus the life here is funny, I have locked myself out unknowingly for about 5 times. Now I dey move around with keys. For naija you fit leave door commot, but for here door na electronic. Immeaditely u commot door go lock.

Netherlands is a place of many opportunities, it all depends on what society you belong and what part you want to partake, mind you for Blacks all over places in this universe, you have alot to do in other to be recognized. All the same be close to your God.

Its quite funny what i have read regarding life in Netherlands. I always advise friends and people who want to move to Netherlands. First have a SOLID plan on what and how to survive. Do NOT depend on finding a job as a student because almost ALL employers will NOT hire you because they do not have the time to apply and process your Work Permit for you. I equally advise people to make sure you apply to a very reputable University were you have good chances of having your International student office assist you in finding an employer during summer. Lastly, Netherlands should be like a gateway to Europe for you if you cannot afford to study here, moving your course after the first year to Germany or any other University in Europe is extremely easy. Make proper plans that will have option A,B and C. I have heard from many people who have nationalized in Netherlands and they always say that Holland is not a recommended country for first timers, its hard if you don't have a lot of money and backings. But all in all i will still advise those who plan to move to Holland to proceed because here is the heart of Europe, never listen to anyone telling you that been a black in Netherlands means you cannot get an office work, that's BULLS. I have a friend who will be graduating before me in the same course have already gotten a offer letter from Philips Electronics which is a Dutch owned company. The blacks you see with no office work are mostly uneducated, from black countries once colonized by the Dutch.

Hey fellas, how are you doing today? I was in Netherlands last yr September for my lil sisz graduation. I was in de hagge nd Amsterdam lovely places . The visit was short tho (3nites). I don't know about d disadvantages but it really enlightened me to modern infrastructure s, civilization, nd so on. My take with hard work nd grace of God u can prosper anywhere. Jst keep d faith.

Dude point of correction, there are black who work in an office, those you mainly see doing the kind of job u mentioned in your post are mostly uneducated one. Although at first it really difficult but with time it is easy. And also if u see, u can't afford the education anymore, it will be wise to move to Germany because it will be easy then

Congrats, well there is little or no questions asked, just verification and confirmation of your data as the actual student. It is not in their power to issue or deny the Visa as far as its already been approved by IND in Netherlands. Welkom

You welcomed. Every city in Netherlands is good, just that others have better student job opportunities than others.
