I'm not always 100 % right with my comments but the level of idiocy in this political section is way out.

That is so true. A great thread was opened by Rossike a few days back titled The Gross STUPIDI.TY Of The Biafran Idea. It was a well-researched, balanced analytical piece that outlined why despite the current clamour for Biafra, its agitators needed to do a whole lot of re-thinking, since support for the cause did not cut across all strata of society, even within Igbo land. sad

All of a sudden, the entire thread was deleted (not sections of it, or a few comments o! shocked shocked) without any rhyme or reason. No feedback was given to the author of the post, or any of the respondents after more than 32 posts had been uploaded on that thread. angry Okay, o!

About 48 hours ago, he opened another different thread, seeking for answers as to why that first thread was closed. No cogent reasons came from the mods. Now that 2nd thread, has also been yanked off NL this afternoon. angry

Those who deleted a well-articulated, mature, rational, factual thread asking pro-Biafran agitators to be cautious, instead of rushing headlong into an uncertain, potentially violent situation, are the same ones that have also allowed inane, tribalistic comments, to flourish in other places. May God save us all! undecided

Na wa, o! shocked shocked shocked Dia ris God, oh!

Rossike's case has prompted me to do a lot of thinking. Before I open any thread on NL, I would have published the opening article on another blog, totally different from NL. At least, when you Google the title, it would be available for viewing, in case NL decides to delete the main thread. sad

Secondly, if an article was deemed to be offensive in the past, it was transferred to the Ethnic, Sectarian Politics section far away from public glare. Third, if any thread had any offensive post, only the offending sections were deleted or edited by mods. The rest of the thread was then locked, but still kept available for viewing. Seun has done that several times. undecided

Why has this practice changed now? Were the comments in Rossike's thread, making the pro-Biafra groups uncomfortable or jittery, because they hit too close to home?? shocked I wonder...

Non of the rules on NL is really effective , Bunch of couch potatoes , tribalistics and self glorified people are in charge of everything on NL, of all the rules , rule 20 is the worst, If they don't want a gangup, let me be objective and reasonable, and that begs the question, Who moderates the actions of the moderators ?
