Good Morning, Please I concern. I plan to travel with my mum to the US to have my baby. The challenge that I have is that my mum has never traveled out of Nigeria. I don't know if this will prevent her from getting a visa easily. My husband and I have valid US visas so we will not be applying for visas at this time. Please I will like to hear from anyone who has had a similar challenge and know how it was addressed. Thanks. 1 Like |

mama32015: You mum will most likely be given without any hassles. You should start by informing the embassy about your birthing plan. Print out that email and their reply. Give those to your mum. Let her also go with your passport data page and your hubby's. Proof of accommodation, hospital's and Dr's correspondence, sponsor's statement of account. She should just clearly state that she will be assisting her daughter who will be going to have a baby. She should know the state you will be going to and the hospital name too. 1 Like 1 Share |

that is not an ish. had a similar case.. these are what i had her carry with her.. 1. color copies of our "stamped" visa pages. 2. copies of our passport data pages. 3. a printed photo of our family vacation previously to the state (optional though) 4. my bank statement. 5. copy of my coy id card. 6. copy of purchased flight tickets. 7. copy of her terminal leave (retirement) letter. that should do...because her passport was just about 2 weeks old to the date of interview. she stated that she is travelling with her daughter and her kids whom's going for vacation and childbirth. gud luck with your endeavours. mama32015: |

mama32015:I don't believe its that much of a challenge.why? Lotsa folks have travelled with thier mums/relatives for child birth and no history. A few pages back, somebody shared how her cousin with no history was denied the first time to accompany her but the lady reapplied and got. Single lady too. The trick is to convince the vo that she will be needed...say maybe ist baby or hubby won't be around during the birthing or something and then show she has strong ties egs ur popsi or a project at home (jobs/business etc) Also I suggest u email them your intent to birth letter ist before she goes. Good luck and congrats |

Many people have answered you - no hassles whatsoever - my mum applied using this purpose last year and was given, my mum in law came with me this time and was also given. No issues whatsoever - one is very educated, the other isn't educated. Just have all your documents and speak to your mum to be very honest, confident and prep her on likely questions and answers. If you fill the form on her behalf, make sure you discuss the content of the form with her so her answers will be consistent. Questions asked both of them were: - where are you going to - purpose of trip - what they do - what their daughter/son in law does mama32015: |

Evening house.Pls I have a question on behalf of a colleague. She's already filled her Ds 160 form and in it she applied for an M1 visa because she has a 6wk training program she's going for but she's also pregnant and intends to have her baby same period. So basically she wants to do the training and also have her baby not long afterwards.Shes paid for the training already. My question now is should she leave the Ds160 with the M1 visa request or she should fill a new Ds160 requesting for a B1/B2 visa? Not sure which visa allows her do both. |

@delvy hi am a silent reader that contributes once in a while,u gave me a heartattack when I saw that new jersey quote, because that's the hospital I intend using. I made alot of calls ur right but when I called the doctors office, that's bestobgyn@gmail.com, they insisted I stick to the previous bill sent to me which is the 6550 for vd,I called twice sef to confirm and the lady I spoke to said that amount is ridiculous and was laughing that I shouldn't worry and stick to d old quote. but I decided to search further so am not caught unawares got some hospitals like saint Marys which is 4000 for vd and 5000 for cs not inclusive of epidural,Dr's fee n paeditrician. st Joseph vd 7861 cs 10961. sorry for the long story. 1 Like |

Good evening. Can 2 adults be allowed to travel with 3 babies from the US? Does a woman having triplets need to travel with 2 other people? @Nogen, please how many helpers did you have? Thanks for your anticipated kind responses. 1 Like |
Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 2 by Nogen: 7:37pm On Sep 01, 2015 |
mama32015: Please, make sure you have 3 adults,; an adult to a baby. It was just my mum and I with 3 babies and no airline will carry you. It's either you buy a seat (adult fare) for the 3rd baby or you get an adult that will have the 3rd baby on his or her ticket. God sent me 2 angels the day we were leaving and my 3rd baby was added to one of them. But while we were in El Paso, it was just my mum and I that took care of the babies till we returned. The babies behaved so well and they still do ; they just eat and sleep. So they made our job very easy. 3 Likes |

deeore: This is so confusing. When I called, they confirmed the Hackensack fees had changed. And suggested I find cheaper hospital options if $8900 is too expensive. I am wondering what they mean by 'insisting you stick to the previous bill' when they have no say over what the hospital charges, they work in the Drs office (NJbestobgyn) and have nothing to do with hackensack mountainside. They seem to be giving a lot of conflicting info. I called Jersey city medical center and VD cost is $4000, while CS costs $7500. However finding a Dr affiliated with Jersey city at a reasonable fee is an issue. I called over 15 Drs...fees average $3000, minus Paed and Anaesthesia...other Drs I called will not accept patients beyond 20 weeks - 27 weeks and definately not in the third trimester. All of a sudden Hackensack's website shows "Access denied"...trying to access it from here. Hackensack mountainside not Hackensack UMC. Hmmm.... |
