From news making the rounds, he was on his way to catch. An international flight before the accident, since the accident is not serious, he could have decided to continue with his trip and check him self up at the same time, no big deal |

So long our leaders believe only in building infrastructures rather than investing heavily in personnel, they will continue to run helter scelter. Whatever may be their achievements while in office will not endure the test of time. Many invest in building blocks of classroom forgetting that teachers make the school, some building blocks of hospital bedrooms forgetting that highly motivated and qualified medical personnel is important for quality service. This is the Cruz of the matter here. Just like some footballers often do, our politicians most times play to the gallery. |

Nigerian doctors troop in their thousands to the US, UK, Canada etc and are doing very well in these countries since the early '90s. We have more than enough qualified medical personnel boss!! M4gunners: |

First of all,Akpabio was said to be on his way to d airport presumably on his way abroad when he got involved in d accident and it is possible he continued on his journey after being stabilised. 2ndly,no hospital in d world has d peak expertise in all d fields, and so it is in Nigeria too.I know d highest hospital in Nigeria,in terms of eye care is somewhere in Kaduna state and so also is d cancer radiation center too. |

What makes the hospital a world class hospital should not be the structure alone. The personnels should be incluusive. If Akpabio goes abroaD to get himself treated, then the hospital is not world class. |
Re: Photo: Why Senator Akpabio Should Not Go Abroad For Medication by InvertedHammer: 11:06am On Sep 03, 2015 |
donholy28:/ Buildings and edifices alone do not make hospitals. You still need competent personnel to treat patients. And judging by my exchanges here a few days ago with some Nigeria doctors, Akpabio took a very wise decision. How would yo feel if you get to a hospital and your attending physician is teamchocolate or Nobody? You might as well send your folks to Apams for "arrangement" \ |

M4gunners:You don't have a point, I guess it's the same system they created that brought about those doctors,so if they are incompetent it's still their fault plus those same doctors treats you and I and we'd been healthy and good... Note: Akpabio is suppose to be a lawmaker, what do you have to say about a lawmaker ben a law breaker, breaking the traffic rule... In a sane country he should be charged to court for not respecting the traffic rule... |

Israel5:be very afraid of d doctor who doesn't open books to treat his patients. It is not possible for 1 person to have all d Knowledge in all d fields,U might know a drug but will have forgotten d dosage, interactions wt other drugs U want to prescribe, side effects, contraindications etc. It's not possible for 1 person to have all d details in those big big textbooks in his head. |

aresa: The Parot ex-Governor Of Akwa Ibom could have simply been wise enough to continue the story of going abroad to see his family, when he gets there he could have simply checked into a hospital to continue any treatment that might be necessary. Now he has put in the mind of his people that the 'world-class' hospital he built is a FAKE! |

AMI3:Keep quiet my friend! Akwa Ibom my feet! That backwater state? And who told you his wife and children are residing in Nigeria? Good 8 years at the helm of affairs, no good school for his kids and no hospital to treat his headache in Akwa Ibom. The joke is on you. |
Re: Photo: Why Senator Akpabio Should Not Go Abroad For Medication by christinie(f): 12:05pm On Sep 03, 2015 |
Akpabio built the world class hospital but he is not a lecturer to teach our proud, nonchalant, never-care-about-human-life, book-consulting medical doctors. Akpabio has sent many less privileged people abroad in the past for medical care. He deserves the best medical treatment and if the best is abroad SO BE IT! |
