How unfair can Jonathan be to Nigerians. A "man without shoes" that was elected to rule this great nation with high expectationz that he ll be leading us to the moon Only ended up building a shoe store for himself. Who is more ungrateful? 3 Likes |

I took time to go through the article. Maybe some people will like to label me as a modern wailing wailer. But never the less, the last administration under GEJ did a marvelous job to transform this nation. For the mere fact that he chose the part of peace I sincerely rate him high. If I were GEJ this country would still be boiling now. Maybe if he chose to stay nothing would have happened.!! 9 Likes |

Whenever I hear APC touts five credit to Buhari for improved power supply , I shudder at how shameless some people can be. This is a man who is yet to appoint ministers to run his government. As clearly stated in the article, whatever improvements we are recording in the power sector or other sectors for is a result of efforts of the Jonathan's administration. Buhari and APC should stop taking credit for another man's efforts. It is shameful! 1 Like |

saintopus:As in eh If I were GEJ,I'd set the country ablaze and blame buhari for it based on his baboons and monkeys yarn.. And to further prove to the international community that am not interested in power,I'd in the midst of the crisis constitute a ruling committee of trusted loyalists and repose the governance in their hands...after which I'd resign. By the time the Nigerian tribes must've freely fought themselves for sometime, they'd settle it based on equality of all groups while buhari would simply be yanked of to the Hague 1 Like |

I have Never had any misconceptions about GEJ'S presidency. How many ex-Presidents have the following he GEJ is enjoying till today and till years to come? Bring up any topic about him and see reactions pro and anti Gej, see NL as an example. The man is simply a peaceful giant as far as the Nigerian political atmosphere is concerned. Even a supposedly victorious APC dedicates at least 10days every 30 working days to attack GEJ'S presidency and still fall face flat despite the armada of press houses they control. Enough said, I pray Nigeria gets even better than he left it; though optimism wanes by the day. 1 Like |

Jonathan might be a good leader but he wasn't a strong leader. He threaded too softly and too careful and he tried so much not to ruffle the feathers of the political class at the expense of the masses. He let people sabotage his government and hold him to ransome. The mere fact that power supply greatly improved as soon as buhari came in simply implies that someone in authority with vested interest was sabotaging gas supplies to the power stations during jonathan's era. Now buhari is here, everyone is on alert because they fear a new sheriff is in town and no one wants to be caught slipping. Right now, I dont think any sane politician would openly and blatantly divert/co-mingle public funds.... God bless Nigeria. 1 Like |

Time as usual, will always tell. Jonathan wasn't perfect but at the same time, isn't the failure the gullible ones are painting him as. When he came up with the increase in import duties for cars and the Nigerian automotive development plan that is supposed to improve local assembly/production of vehicles, encourage technology transfer to our engineers, provide jobs for the avalanche of idle mechanical engineering graduates wasting around without jobs, encourage manufacturing of car parts and components locally, save foreign exchange, etc,I supported Him because I saw it as an opportunity for the country to move forward in technological development, even though I knew it would have an adverse effect on my business as sales of foreign used vehicles, would drop. But a lot of my colleagues kicked against it cos the policy was going to put out a lot of dealers out of business in the long run. For them,it was more about keeping up with the status quo and being in business. Most Nigerians are selfish and self centered, and only care about themselves. What I did on my part, was to start making contacts, inquiries and all that, from automobile companies coming in to set up plants here, and those already here(companies like Innoson vehicles manufacturing). But most of the people in my line of business believe that the import of used vehicles,is a business that should go on forever and not be stopped. How do you get multi-national companies to invest billions of dollars in an industry where there is a counter-productive policy that would work against their investment? People talk about not having steady power supply and I ask: was China(with the largest automobile industry in the world today) having 24hrs power supply in 1950 when they started the production of automobiles? Answer is no. Prior to that time, electricity was mainly in the urban areas. It was the aggressive industrialization policy of the chinese govt from 1950,that led to the construction of over 1000 small hydropower projects between 1950 and 1959 in the rural areas, which led to a total installed capacity of 159mw in the rural areas, which was just 0.6% of the nation's consumption. This aggressive industrialization policy is what fired up energy generation in China and led the country to where it is today. But in Nigeria,we tend to believe that we must have adequate energy supply before we kickstart any industrialization policy. The West weren't comfortable with Jonathan's romance with China, which would have opened up/fired up Nigeria's industrialization and as such, had to do everthing to scuttle that. Apart from issuing us visas, granting us visa lotteries and giving us aids/grants/loans,what has the west actually done for us? The aids, grants and loans we collect from them, would only keep us as beggars for as long as we keep depending on them. The balance of trade between us and the west is so wide, and skewed in favour of the west. This is because we import almost everything we consume from them;do you think they'd want this to stop? Before we slaughter Jonathan who is in no way perfect, let's take out time to objectively look at some of his policies and see where they would have taken us to when they eventually materialize. |

Re: ooo by realborn(m): 6:47pm On Sep 06, 2015 |
Jonathan failed. Simple... Epistles are not required to cover his fecklessness and lack of intellectual acuity. What strategic achievement can we point to under his administration? Most of his efforts were lackluster. Compensating party faithfuls with key Ministerial appointments. What business did Wike have in Ministry of Education with his crassness? Or reappointing Obanikiro as a Minister to compensate him for loss of the Lagos PDP guber ticket? Who got punished for the poorly refurbished Airports? In Ph, domestic arrival is still under a canopy and 50% of the airport remains uncompleted. The new Arik terminal at the Domestic airport, Lagos already looks dilapidated. The glazing and curtain walls were obviously substandard. The air conditioning at the International wing has been haphazard since commissioning. Despite these poor performances, no one was punished and full sums paid. East-West Road has been on for like ever. Where did the probe of oil thieves end? It ended with one of Jonathan's best friends setting up the covetous head panelist; end of story, another noise making with no results. Refineries and the power sector were fixed under Jonathan and we never enjoyed the pleasures until baton exchanged hands. Who is fooling who? Jonathan's government only succeeded in deceiving it's cronies with the cosmetic approach to governance. His government was a free for all centre for anyone who sings his praises, charlatans and comedians alike. Jonathan paid dearly for his shortsightedness and advice from sycophants. Buhari will make some poor decisions but he would teach PDP who led for 16 years what good and accountable governance looks like in 4 years. My 2 cents! 1 Like |
