Most Federal Government organisations recruit by Federal Character. Sometimes, new potential recruits have to be from certain states or regions to be eligible to apply. CBN had a recruitment specifically for Yobe, Zamfara, Bayelsa and one or two other states about two years ago. Don't think that organisations such as these will email you and ask you for your state of origin if you omit this information from your CV.

Same goes for DOB. Heard of age limits for certain job positions? KPMG for instance strictly abides by its '26 and under' recruitment policy for entry level hires.

So beware. Know who, what you're applying to and for, and adjust your CV accordingly.

The emphasis here is not on the content but the presentation. I never said this resume will make a third class graduate being considered for a First Class job role. As stated in my post, it works well in the creative/I.T sector where emphasis is placed on innovative thinking and presentation skills.

Look at this situation: You have series of projects that has to highlighted in the CV with some details eg Defence Projects, Nuclear Plant Projects etc

Only people with poor academic qualification bother so much about decorating CV..

If you have a good academic qualification as you intend to claim, it should not be difficult for you to understand the above texts, since they are written in plain English. Take note, academic qualifications do not always matter for creative/I.T roles.

Keep in mind, a job application is different from a Resume or CV, on a job application, you fill out your personal info. but on a CV it's very unprofessional. For jobs were you submit a Resume or CV and no job application, a cover page is definitely a must! On a cover page you would include your intentions, personal info. and other things that might distinguish you from the rest of the applicants. We all know some jobs don't follow proper protocol but majority of jobs in Nigeria won't require you to put your religion, age and so on in your Resume.

I agree with the creative section or even marketing or Artistic but I.T no way! I.T managers are more interested in the skills/experience section than a fancy C.V I'm speaking from experience, my C.V is very simple, not fancy at all but it is very heavy in terms of education and work experience, I've never had a problem getting called for interviews.

Lolz, experienced hires barely have job problems in Nigeria. Their major problem might be the "pay", and not getting offers. Most of the ones I know do not even do interviews before getting jobs.

No bro, age is not required on a CV! Most employers would never require age on a CV, it's just ridiculous! Now if you are talking about recruiters and recruiting companies then you might have a point. For example, any job advert that asks you to send your CV and also send an email is from the recruiter, in such instances they might require additional info. such as age and religion.
