See life. This same Union bank the noisy so-called priest Fr Mbaka tried to "shut down". Infact, his utterances against the bank crashed it's finances so much the bank became a shadow of itself in Enugu and Anambra state then. Fr Mbaka went to town, and prophesied against the bank and customers besought the bank the following days withdrawing their money. Life! I'll live through this. |

[quote author=20pounds post=37650250]It was the horse that attracted baba. He saw the horse logo, remembered all the durbars he used to watch as a boy and it created a bond between the two. I am sure the account was opened in their Area 3, Abuja office; where they have a sturdy house standing infront of the building. On the day the account was opened, baba walked close and touched the horse, he felt the legs and certified it strong. He also took cognisance of the fact that horse represents strenght. He went in... Baba: "good mornin, how are you?" Bank clerk: "good morning sir" Baba: "please, is your bank the owner of the horse outside?" Bank clerk: "horse?...oh, the logo..yes sir" Baba: "ok,you people must like horses very well..?" Bank clerk: "yes we do sir" Baba: "that is good! I prefer cows, but I like horses too. I just have fewer horses than cows" Bank clerk: "ok sir. May be you can open an account for your horses and cows here" Baba: "sure?" Bank clerk: "yes sir" Baba: "ok. I hope 5000 will be enough to open the account?" Bank clerk: "yes sir. What is your name sir?" Baba: "Muhammadu Buhari..." Bank clerk: "General Buhari !..." Baba: "don't bother with the general" If any bank wants baba as a customer, they should hurry to the Ministry of trades and Investment and change their trademark and logo to the following; 1. Cow 2. Mud houses 3. Military boots. 4. Helmet 5. Carmouflage uniform 6. Plot number of the land in Port-Harcourt not found yet. [/quot Bro plz learn to respect ur elders. 1 Like |

Well if buhari is fine with his bank. Good for him and all the best to the bank. But as for me and my house hold its a no way for Union bank. Have you been to that bank of recent. And with the whole development in the banking industry and financial world I cant let one bank be slowing me down . They were the raining banks those days. And if first bank can come out of that old system I don't see why they can't. First bank is also old too. Not that am advertising for first bank but union is just to backward for me Even the banks high up dir I still complain about issues and I will now carry my self to a bank where they will need birth certificate, school certificate, marriage certificate , prove of income, house address, age, sex, height, nationality etc Before I deposit and withdraw simple 5000 Naira. If it works for baba. Good luck to him |

The safety of your asset (money) in any bank in Nigeria is not a function of the class of people and institutions that bank with it, but a function of CBN/NDIC's regulations, supervision and monitoring. All banks in Nigeria are safe until proven otherwise by the regulatory bodies. |

Interesting. About a year ago, my mum who is 70+ asked me to follow her to her Bank. It felt strange walking into Union Bank that day. 80% of the customers in the Bank that day were around my mum's age, many of them pensioners. Even the staff were not the typical types I am used to. I joked about this with my mum when we stepped out and she laughed. She told me she opened the account when she started working in a government hospital about 40 years back. Maybe the Bank deserves more credit than they get now, just wonder how they will cope once this generation of customers pass away. 3 Likes |

I can liken union bank to a manual device that hardly get spoilt. The fast, new generation bank could be affected by one simple glitch in there operations because they depend so much on automations in banking. Both have their advantages and disadvantages thus, non is perfect. yehmi01: |
