Yesterday's meeting made history in Abia State business records as the executive governor of Abia State Dr Okezie Ikpeazu visits the
of states office for economic and trade relationship of State of Maryland, US.
Present at the meeting were the key members of the Maryland business development team and the Abia State delegation led by the governor himself.
The governor of Maryland was represented by the secretary of state Mrs Kathleen Smith speaking, declared Maryland high interest in adding Abia as one of her active sister state in their business relationship programme to bring economic development in Gods own state.
Their areas of mutual interest are, Business, Art, Culture, Education, Healthcare, Law, Environment, Film, Sports, Transportation and Women Issues.
Maryland is driven by research she said and is currently working on the above listed.
Her team of seasoned experts in the different sectors made meaningful & hopeful contribution towards partnering with Abia State with no hesitation.
The secretary, expressed her immediate desire to working with the present government in rebuilding Abia State.
She recalled, that Maryland is the 5th populated state in the United State of America, they are densely modernised and are well experienced in tourism. This and more are the developments and changes expected to come in Abia State.
