Good Morning, you are doing a good job...Kudos!!!! I was refused a UK visiting visa in 2013, I'll appreciate if you can advise me on what to do as I would be applying for a new one soon.Below is the refusal letter. The Decision I note that you have previously applied for entry clearance to the UK and been refused. However, whilst previous decisions may be referred to each application is assessed on its own individual merits. You have applied to visit a friend, Bleep and you have submitted a solitary email from him as an invitation. As there is no signature on the invitation it is of limited value in support of your application. Furthermore, you give no indication of any previous contact with your UK sponsor to show that this is a genuine friendship. You have not travelled to the UK previously and I think it reasonable to expect you to have been in recent regular contact to make at least outline plans for what is a major visit for you. I acknowledge that you have submitted clarification of your financial circumstances and your employment position. However, these alone are not sufficient with regard to your intentions in the UK. You are unmarried, with no dependent children. You have not shown that you have any strong personal, family or economic ties to Nigeria. Therefore, I do not consider that you have demonstrated to me enough close personal and family ties and personal economic circumstances that necessitate your presence in Nigeria. As such I am not satisfied that you have shown that, on the balance of probabilities, you are genuinely seeking entry to the UK as a visitor for a period not exceeding 6 months as required by Rule 41 (i) of HC 395 and intend to leave the UK at the end of the period as stated by you as required by Rule 41 (ii) of HC 395. I have therefore refused your application because I am not satisfied, on the balance of probabilities, that you meet all of the requirements of the relevant Paragraph of t f\o United Kingdom Immigration Rules Thanks |

Hi Justwise, VicJustice, O'Green et al...please help. I need some clarification. I went to the UK for a few days in december. However, the day i got in, i got a stomach bug from some food i had and was so sick i had to be rushed to A & E. I was rehydrated, given antibiotics and left that same day. All free of charge, and they were aware i was a visitor. My question is now that i'm re-applying, how do i answer the 'have you ever received medical treatment in the uk' question? If yes, how do i fill the contact as i don't even know this. Also, can this cause any issue with my application? Thanks |

Sotchaa: Just write what you wrote here. Don't you have details of A&E you were sent to. At least the district hospitals name. No need for a specific doctors name since it was A&E. |

Sotchaa:Are you really certain that the treatment and the (ambulance) transportation was free? I doubt this because, i know that (though, it may take some time, but) they usually send bills to the person who received medical services and demand full payment of the entire costs except of course you were covered by insurance. Before knowing what to answer to that question, i advice you to contact the address that you declared and see whether there was/is any correspondence from the hospital debt recovery body: You would have a lot of explaining to do if you left the UK while the debt was pending. 1 Like |

Vicjustice: NHS A&E treatment is free for tourists. Charges are only applied if referred for inpatient treatment. |

Sotchaa:To the question: Have you ever received medical treatment in the UK? Just answer YES. And as for the contact details Just write the CITY/TOWN and add don't recall contact details. Trust me, they will get the details themselves. 1 Like |

Hi Vicjustice, thanks for your response. I didnt use an ambulance, went in a private car. Also the doctor told me that its only if i was taken to the ward, which they wanted to do, that it would have cost me. He was Nigerian so he explained that to me and advised that i take drugs. So im definite it was free... Vicjustice: |

Sotchaa: People have given you good advice, don't withhold the info when asked in the form, explain what happened and state that you were not given any bill to pay that you are willing to do that if and when the bill comes |

Dear gurus in the house. I'm going to submit a visa application next week. Please criticise my profile. Taking a look at my bank statement i need some advice on what money lodgement is. I earn 100k per month, it shows in my statement and i have may slips to back it up The balance is a little over 1million naira, saved over a period of time. Six months ago my balance was like 700k. Between then and now i had various credits from sources other than my salary: 50k, at times 70k sometimes less, but not up to 100k. And they occur regularly, every month. Majority of these cash come from my husband and frankly theyre for housekeeping, etc so that i can concentrate on saving my salary. Some from another family member: gifts and whatnots, help me buy this...etc Looking back now, do i need to explain all these monies? Because its impossible to provide hard evidence. Visit period im looking at is 7 days ( im going there to write a one day exam) I will stay in a budget hotel I'm married with a one year old child. D child and spouse stays back in Nigeria. Last year i was refused a visa due to insufficient funds. THE LAST THING I WANT IS ANOTHER REFUSAL!! Awaiting your contributions please. |
