I've never seen my bible mention "political correctness" in the first place, neither did it mention the planet jupiter nor global warming
Does your bible have such a thing as this? undecided

Kindly approach your question from a new vista and lets see if it would ignite folks with sound reasoning instead of those with zealous tendencies

I believe you can do better than that. Was it not you that was praising a popular 'MOG' for his 'PC' work on his gay stance?

You missed the point
let me explain

If I ask a question
"what does the bible say about goats?" or I ask you "why are you a goat?"

Well, the bible has little to say about goats, and you would immediately take a defensive stance and call me a cow or something.

So once more, I suggest you look for some other neutral phrase to use in starting off your inquiry.
No worries, you can then throw in the "PC", "hypocrite" etc kind of stuff somewhere towards the middle of the thread
..just my suggestion

The Bible has a lot to say about the Trinity, rapture and Grandfathers yet those words are not exactly found in the authorised version of the Bible. I know you see political correctness as 'wisdom', cut the pretense and answer the question. cool

No. But that doesnt mean that christianity is a license to be offensive and insensitive to others.

yeah. but if you notice, he reserved his offense to the religious hypocrites of his day. To the poor, the unsaved and the least of these, he was most loving.

Are you now admitting that Jesus was not 'politically correct' when it comes to addressing 'powerful' personalities and issues in His day?

No He wasnt, but He did not verbally beat up the publican or the woman caught in adultery or Zaccheus or Judas Iscariot... too often we mistake unkindness, uncharitable words and hurtful barbs for "truth".

When often American southern christians talk about not being politically correct, they mean they want the unencumbered right to be as abusive as possible to their pet sinners - gays, illegal immigrants...

Jesus on the other hand, showed love, kindness and compassion for the least of these. Christ reserved His strong words for the religious hypocrites... folks like you, Franklin Graham and others who thumb their noses down at those they consider spiritually beneath them... all in the name of "truth" of course.

Will you raise alarm alerting a person sleeping in his house that has caught fire or rather not disturb his 'peace'? I guess if you really love him you will sound the alarm not mindful of whether you disturb his peace or not. That is what I call tough love and not a spineless, weak concept that you call tolerance.

You're being very dishonest... as i have mentioned TWICE already, Christ was not politically correct TO RELIGIOUS HYPOCRITES. To sinners, He had extreme compassion... something we lack and try to dress up as "calling a spade a spade". Imagine Christ doing the same to the woman at the well with 4 husbands? Why didn't he just unkindly call her a harlot? What of the woman caught in adultery? Wonder why He did not yell at her and demand that she be stripped naked and whipped according to the law?

The point is how do you raise the alarm? By calling him an irresponsible idiot who is sleeping why his house burns?

We can simply follow the examples of Jesus and the apostles... tough love is the "cultural christian's" excuse for being unkind, uncharitable and a blanket for hurling insults at other people who they deem spiritually inferior. Extending the love of Christ includes sitting with sinners, eating with them, gently sharing the gospel with them... knowing that their sin is not of their own accord but as a result of spiritual blindness. We teach them with humility, knowing fully well that but for Christ, we would be no better. I prefer a spineless Jesus who told the woman caught in adultery to go and sin no more. I prefer a weak Jesus who let a prostitute use her tears to wash His feet... as His love and meekness gradually melted away the hardness of her heart.

If Jesus was to be tolerant of the adulterer He should have condoned their lifestyle. He did not condemn them because He was shortly going to pay for the penalty of our sins. He said that they should go and sin no more instead of telling them to continue in their sinful lifestyle. If you have a problem with me preaching against sin they you've got to repent and believe the gospel.

I'm not sure what strawman you're building to knock down but obviously you're not reading my responses with any objective view to understanding them at all. You've convinced yourself that political activism, religious zealotry and hateful rhetoric are the new fruits of the spirit contrary to Galatians 5:22.

Jesus did not tell us to condone sin... but He didnt ask us to forget to love the sinner in convicting them of sin either. More often than not, the biggest impediments to spreading the gospel is that our own lives are a complete contradiction of what we claim to preach. Lets take Kim Davis as an example -

This is a woman who was divorced 3 times (God hates divorce - Mal 2:16), married 4 times, had a child out of wedlock after committing adultery with at least 2 men. How many of her colleagues has she evangelized to? What exactly about this life brings any glory to the Lord? If i were a sinner, i'd be laughing her out of my house too. Look at Josh Duggar - he spent a great deal of time condemning gays and claiming that progressives were ruining the concept of family... all the while watching porn and committing adultery with porn stars... yeah i'm sure he also couched his hateful and empty rhetoric as "tough love".

The other problem is that American christians (like you) seem to have problems only with certain sins. If Kim Davis were a true christian - rather than a religious activist - is she also taking care to not issue marriage licenses to fornicators, liars, adulterers, divorcees, rebellious children, single parents? Why do those deserve marriage licenses but gays do not? Are there grades of sin in the bible?

I have no problem with anyone preaching against sin... i have a problem with people who do so with a sneering spirit and with selective hypocrisy.

Your problem here is being politically correct, not wanting to offend the sinners and that's if you know the danger of a person going into a Christless eternity. If you really do you will not hesitate to offer a parachute to a person who is ready to jump our of a air-plane thinking that by flapping his hands he will be able to land safely. Jesus is the only 'parachute' that we have to put on as we are all under the death sentence because of sin. Using any other means to crash land will be catastrophic.

"I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me" (John 14:6).

Jesus did not come to show us the way, teach us the truth, and give us the life, though He does all of this. Jesus is the only way to God, the only Truth and the Only Life in God. Jesus was exclusive in His assertions and I know this is a stumbling block to people like you who easily get offended because you seek a different lifestyle and this is the main reason why Christians all over the world are persecuted by people like yourself just as you are currently doing here.

Nevertheless, one cannot be a Christian and believe otherwise. Christians are not being unloving when they try to win others to Christ because they are aware that all people regardless of their religious affiliations and sinful lifestyles are eternally lost without Christ.

you don't ameliorate that danger by living a life that is a complete contradiction of the gospel either. its great to offer a parachute to someone jumping out of a plane, but i wonder if you're helping by calling them fools and idiots for jumping without a parachute before you help them. Most would just rather die than listen to you... and that is the danger of the type of unkind empty religious rhetoric that passes for preaching from people like you really.

You're preaching to the wind as i doubt anyone has a problem with the gospel. It is true that sinners are eternally lost without Christ... but you dont reach those sinners by treating them as inferior beings who are beneath the very dust under the soles of your feet.

Senseless... i was talking of people today, not those who crucified Jesus 2000 years ago. Yes people still persecute His disciples today... the Lord already prophesied to this and why in the bible so this is not some deep mystery. If you think a 3-time divorcee, 4-time married, adulterous hypocrite is one of His disciples because she is on an ego trip disguised as "religious rights" then you need to get another bible.
