God bless you my brother, I needed to hear that, you just boost my confidence now. God Bless
Don't get scared. Ruby is way easier than JavaScript just that it is extensive. Besides, you guys would be working with Sinatra, a web applications framework for Ruby developers that is so easy to learn. Jeff Wan, the trainer is a nice guy so no worries man.

Hi guys(and ladies),
You see, for those that complained about being rejected despite their worth, and they feel it's all a joke. The recruitment section of Andela knows what they are doing.

For you to be a good programmer, you need patience and persistence. Know what you want and go for it no matter how many times you fail, only that; learn from each failure before attempting again.

This is like my 7th time of applying to Andela this year, and my third interview with them but from each application, i improve my self in preparation for next application.

Now, I'm going for class XII bootcamp on Monday.

Except you are not passionate about being a world class developer that's when you'll easily give up on opportunities like this.

Applying is not easy; I know that, but hey... You just need to know what you want and go for it.

Fellow prospective bootcampers, see you in JavaScript class on Monday. wink

pls may I knw yur age I feel its an age thing that got me disqualified as I am 29

Its not by your age. There's this thing they look for during the interview - charisma. Remember, Andela does more than just code. Building potential CEOs all around Africa requires more than just coding. You should know more than function() to function.

Also during your conversation / interview, show them you know what you are saying rather than agree to their own line of thought. They need something fresh.

It would be helpful getting the technical (Javascript) questions right (I didn't do very well in that area), in which case, you just might join the Ruby class if selected (like Ramos16), but your personality matters most.

Be very confident and think outside the box.

Cheers!

Hey, you're a smart guy ain't you? So I believe you'll understand my angle. You live in lagos or somewhere close to it. Now, compare yourself to someone who came all the way from abuja.

How many attempt is such a person likely to make?
Don't talk about passion cos I've got it.

Talk about the risk of travelling nearly 12 hours monthly. This doesn't favor a lot of people.

Did I make any sense at all?

I don't really know what to say, I also get a regret mail after I got the logic question of 9 balls correctly and also he said I was good but may be its my novice in javascript that makes him to give me a rejection email. I initially made-up my mind that I'm not applying again though this is my first time. I believe I can develop my self when I don already finish HTML, HTML 5, CSS and CSS 3. now planning to dive into PHP. but because of what I read here, I will try again. I don't really know why but I just goat a rejection email.
@tgmservice, I know how it feels, I came down to Lagos from xtreme end of abk but was given a rejection email without a direction of where I did it wrong. if you don't want to apply you can develop urself after all Facebook turn down WhatsApp founder and they later bought the same company for millions
