Good day mamas. Please when can i start using a baby carrier my baby is 8 weeks old, my mum is insisting on not using at all so as to avoid bow legs would appreciate ur inputs.
Also please i need creche around agidingbi, alausa or ogba anyone with good personal recommendation i would appreciate i'm resuming soon and need to pick as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

Depends on the type of carrier. Baby Bjorn tends to leave the hips unsupported a bit (but there's no actual indication that it is an unsafe carrier). I have that one but Baby E was too small for it so I got a Baby K'tan (it is basically like t-shirt stretch material and works like backing your baby but in more styles). The hips are better supported there as the child is in sitting position.

Its not inverted but not dat big.milk has started coming out gradually just dat baby can not hold on to d nipple so we both struggle.

There's this silicon teat called Nipp.le Shield that attaches to your nipple via suction. It helps women with small nipples or babies whose mouths are tight due to some issues (I used mine briefly). Show them and ask if they have it but you probably have to go to an pricier private maternity hospital for them to know where to get it from. If you have someone coming in from the UK/US, ask them to help you get one or buy from someone who isn't using theirs and sterilize it before use. Or get a breastpump the suction action helps pull out your nipples. The more your baby nurses, the more it will come out. And breastfeeding is not aupposed to be painful, so if you're in constant pain, then baby is not latching on well (watch some videos on YouTube to see how baby should latch on after the first week, baby should be sucking on the aureola and nipple not just nipple alone) and you need to teach them how to. Manual pulling is very painful and hurts your breast tissue. HTH

Don't forget to drink your pap, oatmeal, fennel tea and fenugreek (from Indian stores) to boost your supply and always nurse your baby because their constant sucking boosts your supply, especially during Growth spurts.

Pele iya ibeji, it is well wit him. But pneumonia is not caused by cold. It is an infection caused by viruses n bacteria. Dis topic was actually discussed on d 'ask d peadiatrician' group. Just dress d children appropriately 4 d weather, don't ova do it.

Actually the infection can be gotten when the child has a cold. Like cattarh. So if u protect the child from the cold in the first place, there may not have to be a cattarh.

what were the symptoms? My son won't sleep without ac n fan together o! I'm just tired. When I turn off d AC or d fan, he wakes up immediately.

http://www.rch.org.au/kidsinfo/fact_sheets/Pneumonia/

I wouldnt bother about the AC. As long as he is properly dressed. We have to realise that children live in Iceland, Canada and Alaska....and they have not all bern infected by pneumonia. The recommended room temp for kids is about 25/26degrees or so. So if you can keep the AC at that temp, and dress him fine...then you are good to go.

Ori can sometimes do more damage than good. My son reacted TERRIBLY to Ori. It worsened his already existing rash. You should look into stopping the ori for now.

I use president or oldenberg..any foreign butter sold in the supermarkets is fine. Someone also taught me her method. Get carrots, sweet pea, fish (titus) and potatoes. Boil the carrots, peas and potatoes together. boil fish seperate, de-bone and mash. once boiled, put the potato mixture into a blender, add the mashed fish, a little water and blend. It produces a smooth nutrious pudding.
Keep in freezer. when you want to warm, dethraw the food, either use microwave or put a little president butter on the frying pan and add the food for warming. Tastes delicious.

I also followed the advice here, bought basmati rice, boiled it, grinded it into rice pudding.
Then I served it with either milk or my special stew sauce.
Stew sauce: buy tomatoes, onions, pepper (shonbo-non peppery), beef, chicken and fish.
Boiled all the meat and fish. debone and mash fish, meat. For the meat, I used my salad grater to grate the beef and chicken. Blend the tomatoes ingredients. Put on fire to boil with a little oil. when cooked, add the mashed meat/fish, including little salt to taste and mix. Voila -tomatoes sauce with mashed mixed meat.

Its not been easy trying all the recipes I get here becos I work all week, take her with me for office creche and can't stop at the market on the way home lipsrsealed but I now a system of cooking her meals on Saturday for the week, freezing it and bring it out when I need it. Thank GOD for improved light situation. grin

Thank you so much, this will surely help. am really grateful.

That isn't a pimple, it looks like there's pus in it. Please ask your paediatrician to refer you to a dermatologist. If you can't find one, please go to GH Lagos Island, there are great dermatologists there.

@ Mamacajah Please drop your recipe for mashed potatoes or do you use the one you described earlier (recipe from a friend).
I have pasted one below that i intend to try out but i have issues with the boldened part. Dont know how it will be preserved after adding formula. Mama's that know better, please put me through. Thank you.

How to make Potato Puree:
Ingredients:
Potato - 1 medium size (fresh & white variety)
Formula Milk Powder - 1 scoop ( I use lactogen )
Water - 3 to 4 tblspn + for boiling potatoes

Method:
Take a firm, fresh, white potato. Peel it and cube them. Wash it well in cold water.

Add it to a sauce pan, cover it with clean water. Put it on stove and bring it to boil.

Simmer the flame and cook till the potatoes are tender. This will take around 15 mins.

Now drain it and put it in a bowl. Mash it up in a mortar or blender.

Now to make the puree creamy, make some formula milk. Dissolve some formula milk powder which you are using for your baby in some warm water. Pour this over the mashed potato and mash it more to make it creamy.

Transfer this to a bowl and feed your baby with a spoon.
