smuth: Looool. What is my business with light? Do I look like God and do you expect me to say, "let there be light"? Loool. Okay, let there be light!!! Loool. I have got no love for APC, Armoured Personnel Carrier, PDP, ABC, CDA or whatever crap these folks represent. However, I think there is something fundamentally, mentally, cerebrally, and psychologically wrong with Mr. Femi Aribisala (Femi is a beautiful name btw). The man is just too obtuse, illiterate, dumb, and blinkered to be spamming everywhere with useless articles that never address the point - apart from stupidity. He never writes anything intellectually sound. 1 Like |

If APC is occultic and PDP is serving the true God, why should the power of devil win over their god? Perhaps PDP was a lesser occult, and had to bow to a bigger one! Or put it another way APC spell charmed 2million people than PDP's did - so why complain? This Aribisala man is becoming childish in his toughts. And by the way, there can be no greater witchcraft than corruption, the kind we saw in the last 5 years. I even hear it got to the house of god - and possibly explains where some of them remain bitter till this day, inspite of the fact that government changed through a democratic process. That level of corruption deserved to be swept away, by ANY means possible, and in doing that one is acting with God. 1 Like |

For an intellectual scholar, Dr. Femi Aribisala has disappointed me again. As I said in my book on the 2015 presidential election, "The Victory of Muhammadu Buhari and the Nigerian Dream" that I will not insult Dr. Femi Aribisala in public, because his wife, Prof. Karen King-Aribisala is my friend. He cannot label or tag the APC broom as a symbol of witchcraft, because it is like saying everyone who has and uses a broom is a witch or wizard. I have written on the symbol of the APC logo of the traditional African sweeping broom on https://www.nairaland.com/2121138/apc-symbolic-power-popularity-traditional 1 Like |

At times you want to keep silence and watch. But men like Aribisala who are paid agent of PDP will want to take us all for fool. Where was Aribisala when Nigeria lie prostrate for 16 years under the most corrupt government. He was getting his own share of National Cake being shared with impunity by PDP led National Government. I wait to see what Aribisala will write when his benefactor started getting jail terms in multiple years that will even be lenient. I will advocate China model of capital punishment for any one culpable of stealing our common wealth. Under PDP watch Nigeria army who fought in so many International war could not defeat Boko Haram a rag tag disgruntled people. Corruption was in every area you hardly get petrol at the fixed price and when you get them the liters is altered but DPR just wake up, EFCC and ICPC just found their voice to the point that former minister are begging to plea bargain with Millions and Billion of dollar. For God sake why is Aribisala not having shame, he should cover his head in shame for trying to stir up christian and muslim against the ordinary symbol the broom. He is one of the people that took GEJ by hand taking to visit the wailing wall of the jews in Israel as if jews will come and vote here in Nigeria. They took him to Redeem, Winners, Catholica, Choosen when they are not done they visited all the shrine of the world the any government power kings also prayed for him with pointed walking stick. Nigeria are becoming elightened we have been deceived enough are we not the same that voted him 2011. Immediately PDP gullibly field GEJ they too know they have lost the election. Aribiwetin should cover his head in shame and stop his ranting of an ant. |

Shymm3x: ARIBISALA is probably the shortform of "Aribi sa asala" which translates loosely to "one who sees danger and runs to safety". It is probably one of those nicknames that stuck over time and turned into surnames for the subsequent generations. I am not sure about the side of Yoruba land the name is from, it could be from anywhere, but it is more likely to be from Oyo and Osun state axis. I stand corrected though. |
Re: APC And The Spirit Of Witchcraft - By Femi Aribisala by Shymm3x: 7:28pm On Sep 06, 2015 |
DollyParton1: Safe for that. The name just looks unusual for a Yoruba name and I was just trying to check if it's the modernised version of a longer name, since it doesn't have the traditional prefix synonymous with Yoruba names. A name like Demuren for example is the modernised version of Ademuren I believe. Ditto Boyega for Adeboyega and Badejo for Adebadejo. You're my new Yoruba language Tutor, my e-wife who's wonderfully blessed in the right places. Anyway, the meaning of the name is hysterical though. So you mean this blinkered nyggah will run to safety when he sees danger ahead? - now that's some safety first ish. |

Shymm3x: Why are you asking me?? *shrugs* Can't help you there, sorry.... Even though I am not Yoruba, I have tried to learn the language from my friends, but unfortunately I've not had much success in this area. I know all the cuss words, though! |
Re: APC And The Spirit Of Witchcraft - By Femi Aribisala by DollyParton1(f): 10:02pm On Sep 06, 2015 |
Shymm3x: ARIBISALA is a typical Yoruba name, if u grew up in Yoruba land, u won't find it unusual. But u grew up in Ajegunle, so u won't know this. Not all Yoruba names must have a traditional prefix of ade, ola, olu, oso, oje,oye etc. And the short form for Adegboyega is not Boyega, but 'Gboyega. Boyega is probably a name on a different level of its own. @ your last paragraph, guy doesn't have to contemplate on flight or fight reflex. Its just flight only, nothing else. |

If they see cockroach in their house instead of admit the dirt in the house they blame witchcraft. PDP is the next of killers. Could they find Bola Ige Killers in 10 years, Funsho Williams was murder under them and no clue was found by clueless murderer. Pls wake up and stop being deceived |

laudate: Loool. You can't be denying Yoruba like that - we are the greatest ethnic group out of Africa. Check the cultural influence in black diaspora for more info. Anyway, even if you are not (which I doubt) - you need to join the winning team. Regardless, I thought you're Yoruba due to ya understanding of the culture and history. |
Re: APC And The Spirit Of Witchcraft - By Femi Aribisala by Shymm3x: 7:01am On Sep 07, 2015 |
DollyParton1: The most important thing is to grow up being Yoruba, not necessarily where you grew up. A lot of Brazilians are more Yoruba than majority of Yorubas in naij loool. All the Yoruba names (save for twins) I know have the traditional prefixes and I believe they describe the person's family background and the gods they worship e.g Ade is for those from royal background but it seems it has been bastardised. Regardless, thanks for the heads up - you are a gem, esp when you are not being Sasha Fierce lol. See Gobe - ya behind is a killer looool. Anyway, ya assets aren't looking too brolic in ya pic...they look regular. That is the problem with pictures sometimes. I need to see, feel, and touch them in person - to know if you are not overhyping them thangs there, you get me? Looool. |

Shymm3x: Ah, that part about understanding the culture and history is easy. My sister studied History at the uni, and I had to help her get materials, data and maps for her project. She wrote about the history and culture of the South-western part of Nigeria, and their political economic ties to other communities. We used to brainstorm till late in the night. That was several years ago. She speaks a bit of the language but she still found it tough, getting everything she needed. So I had to help out. In the process, we travelled outside Lagos, quite a bit. And made a lot of discoveries. The indigenous culture of the Yoruba, (not the Lagos contemporary acculturated one!) is like a rich, beautiful, intricate tapestry, with different patterns of thought woven through each strand of their lives. Another discovery was the fact that the best kind of pounded yam can actually be found in Ekiti State! 1 Like |

Shymm3x: Am telling you... their pounded yam is one of the best I have ever tasted! The ones in Edo State come a close second! And the best palm wine we had then, came from the northern part of Owo in Ondo State. Then the antelope bush meat in Ede was tasty! Chai! Oh, the memories are bringing tears of nostalgia to my eyes. We made such good friends there. The chaps in the hinterland, were so polite and hospitable. |

eleko1:DiD Nigerians Hate ex-miltary general led PDP in their first 3 Months of receiving power from the military? The answer is NO,on the contrary we all welcomed them with excitment as agents of Change....fastforward to 16 years and it has proved to be a vile party of sorts. It is just simple logic that Nigerians tread a little more courteosly or at least show a little bit of reservation with this also new government led by an expresido/ex-general,instead we have this early jubilation and mumuristic follow follow gullible Nigerans as usual are known for.Pray what do you lose if the government you put on its toes or critised eventually performs above expectations?Nothing. This is why the developed countries are better than us,with all they have, they still keep their governments on its toes, always demanding for more and never praising a new comer!yeye mumugerians! |
