abiscomama:I'm in an excited mood... Here's my excited reply I'm not sure about Dallas but I know some mums in Houston who went alone with kids stayed in accommodations where they offer nanny services... I also remember reading ( yes I know I have a good memory thanks for the compliment in advance ) someone who stayed where there were other preggy women and when she had to go to clinic and all, other preggy mothers helped her out, then someone who stayed in an apartment where opposite them had nanny services. U have plenty of time dear, go through the thread and read.. And you'll see plenty stories just like yours and then u can plan accordingly. I remember Arlington being d in place for some mums. Oh yes and it's America honey.... Just a number and you'll have someone come over to look after ur daughter.. Hehehehehehe money speaks 3 Likes |

firsttymum: Errmmm. . . Not exactly. There used to be a law in Nigeria (i don't know if same obtains now), that corp members are not allowed to travel out of the country except for emergencies. Embassies, including US, used to take this seriously and would deny most corp members once they know. I don't know the trend these days. kendybabe88: You might have to research this and maybe ask the VisaOfficer on the other thread. If you don't get concrete info, you might just have to risk the visa application. If you have other solid ties (husband and other kid/s), you fit claim unemployed housewife. 2 Likes |

kendybabe88: This is actually the VO you will need to ask as s/he handles non immigrant visas. Goodluck. https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening/50 |

kendybabe88: Erm...I definately renewed my UK visa and travelled for my graduation in London during NYSC. The fact i was a Corper didnt even come up. This was in 2012. Unless things have changed, I dont know why it should matter. |

firsttymum: bachangel: Of course, there are always exceptions to every rule. I've heard of some cases where the VO (US) expressly told them it was against the rule to grant visas to corp members for non emergencies (vacation et al) except with the approval of the NYSC DG. This was long ago though. Looks like the rule may have become lax. |

Phema: kendybabe88: That's so true. Being a corperr isn't a tie to Nig. The VOs are aware of that law that a person that's serving isn't permitted to leave the country on any ground safe for emergencies. But then, that's where favour comes to play! 1 Like |

firsttymum: More goodnews. The pediatrician bills received so far is less than $250. It looks like that's the end of them and it also seems the intervention with Pediatrix worked. Note this is without hearing test which could go as high as $300 here and the circumcision as much as $250. That's it. Received zero balance 2 weeks ago. We are done. 3 Likes |
