Please house, which provincial nomination is ongoing and which will be opened soon?

Most of them have been opened for so long, they now require applicants to have a job offer or have a relative residing in their province. I guess Quebec will be opening soon, but their processing ehn...lol

Thanks @Zandora,

Yeah I checked it, its a UK Msc Degree so I think it should fly...but my Bsc is from 9ja, I just don't want to waste time if only the Msc will be used to give me points...what do y'all feel?

My MSc is also from the UK and my BSc from Nigeria but I only evaluated my MSc and so far I haven't had any problems. Just evaluate only your Master's to save lots of time.

The latest draw is out - 459 cut off crs score and 1,519 ITAs issued.

It appears CIC gets to wait for new entrants or for older folks in the pool to improve their score to over 450 before they do a draw. The draws have been so consistent in terms of range of cut off score and number of ITAs issued.

Married folks had rather bulldozed their spouse to add whatever score they can by writing IELTS and possibly evaluating their certs.

If they go at this rate, I wonder how they hope to meet their target for this year and, in it all though, we shall have testimony to give on this issue in Jesus name

Hello good people of this forum.

I have an urgent request which has be troubling me before I came across this thread and I read forth and back to see the helpful contributions you have been making.

My problem is this: I got an email from the VO in Accra asking for bank statements showing salary payments from a previous employer when at the time, my salary was paid in cash. However, I have all the payslip which was initially submitted at the inception of my application. I also sent them other backup documents by DHL when they previously asked for other documents such as CAC from the company, evidence of the company's existence itself, pictures, etc. In fact, my previous employer even sent a letter to buttress my point that I was paid in cash through that period.

The DHL package was delivered and signed for; however, to my surprise, I got an email from them telling me they are about to reject my application because I may no longer seem interested as I did not provide a bank statement showing the salary payments within that period. They did not mention any other document from before but just the bank statement and I have only 30 days to respond or I can as well forget about the application.

Please, your insights, opinion and experiences will be greatly appreciated as I have dedicated a lot to this process and many of my plans are attached to it. I will also be grateful to know if it is possible to send them email messages through the email adress ACCRAIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca and if they actually respond to email messages.

Thank you so much as you help a brother in need and may God Bless you abundantly.

Hi thatnaijaboy....have u been able to resolve this issue? I feel u can send emails to them thru the email above.

The truth is they are not obligated to meet their target, moreso you dont know the number of people who have followed non single applicants. That said, I understand the cic logic they would not compromise the quality of migrants that come in esp in their economic turmoil. Their body language shows that the score will not go below 450 cos 1. It will be unfair those who spent time and money to get above that score to obtain ITA, 2. Its a wrong precedence, fishes in the pool will not improve their quality and this will give them false hope that the score will eventually get as low as they wish. 3. It becomes a lottery.
The Canadian immigration process is very reasonable and logical, it has evolved over the years, they understood key reason why migrants have failed, hence they laid emphasis on great english and your money.

I have a question, are ielts sat here marked in nigeria or they are sent to the UK?

In my opinion, anyone who scores 400/496 hasn't done badly. Let's face it, if you have never been to Canada to study or work and doesn't have a provincial nomination or prearranged employment, I think you will have a maximum score of 496 or slightly more. That's with a phD.
What percentage is that? That's over 80%. Some have also said maximum score possible without Canadian links is 520, but even at that, the percentage would be greater than 76%. That isn't bad.

I feel the entire process is skewed - my opinion though.

Meanwhile, have you noticed the trend of people's scores in the IELTS? Get at least band 7 in three of the modules and have your band score reduced by 0.5 in one of the modules. That way, you lose at least 56 points. 496-56=? It will always be less than 450. So: immigrants influx is checked; more and more people repeat the test; Newbies who are yet to write apply to write; people who feel they should score more ask for evaluation - but pay for it; then, one out of say 20 gets his marks changed. That way, people will still believe that the process isn't biased and, will pump in more money into writing the exam.

Lastly, what do you make of a CRS of 800points? That means the person had just 200points outside one of a provincial nomination or a job offer.

Now, I am not a pessimist; just stating what i feel is obvious.

N.B.
I read that IELTS exams are marked at the centres where they are written.

I cant agree more with you, the process is very stringent, and its a tall order for us to attain that score and financially demanding as well, no doubt British council Nigeria/IELTS is making it difficult for us, they have def raised the bar, those phillipines and indians who can not construct a correct english will be scoring 8 in writing, this is very bad, if this continues we will lead a peaceful protest to Thompson avenue, ikoyi because this is the mountain hindering most if not all nigerian applicant (like this comment if you are in agreement).

Perhaps if your answer is correct we will have writing this exam in Ghana as it is less competitive, they struggle to fill the exam dates (september is not even filled up yet) However, the whole of october was filled in less than a week in Nigeria.

Some of the points you made don't exactly apply. What makes you think people are not making efforts to improve their score and who told you emphasis is partly on money? I personally know someone who did the IELTS 4times and another who has registered the 2nd time(plus spouse doing it second time as well). Moreover, money issues only come in after you must have landed there, not at the selection stage.

The major determinants are IELTS Grade, Age and partly educational level. The point of IELTS is understandable as communication is key for an immigrant to integrate into a new society. There are lots of people who have enviable work experience and even very good IELTS Grade but unfortunately, Age is their undoing. Its seeming like Canada wants a younger work force which may be understandable as its the initial reason for the immigration programme because, under the old fswp, age wasn't as discriminatory as it presently is and, the spouse's contributory factor isn't as significant as it presently is.

Well...they are not obligated to keep to what they initially indicated but, my own point of view is largely based on prospective immigrants whose hopes were raised only for it to be thinning out already. If you must know, people have more trust in the Australian immigration process than Canada's.

When i said "your money" i meant PoF - Migrants' money. Take a look at this $11,000 x 50,000 target migrants =$550,000,000, this is significant, They want us to bring in this money, its good for their economy.

This situation often arise, and it is difficult to prove this kind of inflow, which may result in a stressful process. it is important we know if your score is high enough in the pool so a decline of the invitation could be an option. Another option is to fix deposit a huge amount of these fund.
This is my opinion, let the seniors throw more light.

Withdraw it and use it to do fixed deposit like Garykasparov advised, its the safest way of presenting pof with less eyebrows raised, provided you are employed or doing your own business

Techability you might need to be more explicit with your question because the whole process does not have a define time period but for 2014 estimate a year tops.

Hello guys, pls help me out, my wife applied to WES Canada to have her credentials evaluated. She logged into her account to check her status and it showed 'waiting for verification from institution'. Upon calling her school to confirm if they have received it they confirmed that it has come and that they need money from her to send the document back. They started quoting different amount for DHL, FedEx and normal courier. Pls I want to know if this is right or its just one non-academic staff trying his luck. I'll really appreciate answers. Thanks

In a normal society, that financial burden Should fall on the school, emphasis on 'normal'.

Anyway I had to pay for courier for the verification, and if you go through the tread you'll notice so did a couple of other guys. I also know people who didn't pay anything.

They are right, school usually don't want to incur the cost of postage so, it's best you guys pay the money and let it be sent for you asap. They will likely also send you the tracking details so you can track it for yourself.

She's even lucky they confirmed it's with them, some will just dump it somewhere.

It depends entirely on academic institution... most do not charge anything for this, but others try to rip the applicant by soliciting various fees... Usually it's beyond your control, and you can't do anything with that sad

In my opinion if you withdraw your application and put the money in a fixed deposit account as others suggested you'll have to wait for 6 months before applying. This would be the beginning of next year when PNP's will start issuing invitations once again and hence lead to an increase in the CRS minimum score per draw for a while . Furthermore, CIC has said they will carry out between 16-25 draws this year and they've already done 16 draws this year therefore they aren't under any obligation to carry out any more draws this year if they choose to. As a result I won't decline my ITA if I were you.

My suggestion is that you should get a signed declaration or affidavit from your brother which explains that he's repaying back the money he borrowed, print out your 6 months bank statements (not average) which should show when your brother deposited the money into your account, provide your March bank statement which showed the transaction of you gifting the money to your brother and any other evidence. Since it's your money and not borrowed funds the onus is on you to prove the money is yours and unencumbered. Goodluck!!

Hi,mockingjay...I dont know about WES Canada but when I used WES US,the only issue I had was locating the office where the ?letter was and someone taking out time to check their mails.I think it was sent thru email because they only asked me to send 1k recharge card for the call and by the next day,I got an email its been verified by school. Most schools communicate with these bodies electronically and OAU definitely should be among.

But,I had to pay for paper verification of my cert/transcript when sent by ECFMG,who didnt have electronic web transfer portal with my school.I paid for Fedex + school fee of 7k(bank draft).
