Just put it like this, "THE WORLD OWES YOU NOTHING, THEN YOU WOULD NEVER BE DIS-APPOINTED AND NEVER LET WHAT OTHERS SAY HAVE A BIG IMPACT ON YOU." 6 Likes 1 Share

Nice one bro. As far as am concerned, if my business can guarantee me an average of 5k per day in income while I still pay myself some monthly salary, am OK. All I have to do is build on the business and ensure it grows. Getting a paid job is not my priority right now but creating jobs. Coys know that millions are out there looking for job so they don't even care about the next hired person working his arse off. Just the other day, Zenit let off 1,200 workers but yet, you'd still see people queuing up for jobs. The economy is crazy so don't wait for jobs to feed your babies.. 7 Likes 1 Share |

Money comes as a result of problem solved except for charity. Find a problem and solve it then demand commensurate money for it. You must not be stuck with the 'medicine' you studied if every problems within your reach has been solved. There are many problems everywhere no one is interested in solving; reach out with dignity to solve one. You never know how many you will later employ if the solution is properly packaged and effectively sold. 5 Likes 3 Shares |

Bluetooth2: I guess you work with a bluechip company and that makes you feel that everyone does. Guy, it may just be 2% Nigerian workers who are in such employment . That does not serve the requirement for majority. 6 Likes 2 Shares |

francizy: You've surely got the great mindset sir. The economy is truly crazy, and kids no send you- they must feed. Not funny. Man, everyone's got to start thinking outside the box. Thanks for your contribution. 3 Likes |

Well, i think at times you need a job to finance your improvisation. But the improvisation must come first then if a job comes which will serve as engine room for the improvised work plenty should be done to sustain and upgrade the improvised job rather than depending on the secured job which might fail anytime. But depending on getting a job without trying to improvise can kill faster than HIV. 2 Likes 1 Share |

In my opinion, education bring light to your path, but it takes more than education, you've got to be more proactive, and follow trends of events and development. Get more skills and try to be creative. Create jobs, don't look for one. It's all in you. 9 Likes 2 Shares |

preye this is so timely and true...coupled with the fact we've had to contend with poor and bad governance for a long while...one needs to learn a skill to complement degrees attained from higher institutions..But i think preye in some way we still need the help of the government in this...we need a good playing ground to foster skill acquisition and hands on activities that will in turn help many make a good living...we need constant electricity..we need good roads...we need the basics...the country needs to be so good that university education becomes exclusive to only a few persons...i don tire abeg... 5 Likes 1 Share |

We have an education that trains you to be depend on the system, sadly the education it self is outdated and time wasting. After seeing the uselessness of my B.Eng, I knew applying for a Masters degree would be another waste of my time. At the moment I am applying to vocational schools to learn a skill in machinery and equipment overhaul and maintenance . 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Then why did we vote for buhari? One of it was to create and provide jobs. Was this job reason not one of the reasons we kicked out Jonathan? Abeg at least Buhari owes us the responsibility of fulfilling his promise on jobs. A promise is a debt he OWES. |

IzonOwei: Bro, it's a bigger struggle seeing we don't have an enabling environment. Wetin we go do? We may not even have stable power in the next full decade! We can't keep waiting on these folks in government. They don't care about us.....what shall we do then? We need to sit up and work smart. |

dearpreye: dearpreye! You have written this piece excellently well. It's concise and aptly mind blowing.... I read it and read all over gain, i have always had a mindset of creating something, cause have been blessed with loads of Entrepreneurial ideas. Many have identified the spirit in me and have encouraged me not to look back, while some other have seen my move as a mere noise making.. But then i remain undeterred, When i finished with a 2.1 degree in biochemistry and decided an MBA school is my next point of call, many of my classmates and lecturers started calling me names... Today am not regretting this path, even when have not been earning a living myself, but am pretty sure, i would come out with something worthwhile soon. I wrote this piece https://www.nairaland.com/2378227/self-employment-real-stomach-infrastructure sometimes ago, i had recieved more accolades and mockery from folks too, especially the percieved "Salary better grads", who feels the noise about self employment and encouragement is an empty noise to demonize the salary work, which i have evidently clarified. Coming here to see contributions from Truckpusher, you and loads of other great minds on this platform is a great moral booster. Let me say have never had it better on nairaland than today, am impressed. God bless you real Good. 1 Like 1 Share |
