Nd lasan gan is equivalent to bsc, nt to talk of hnd.
In fact, HND is higher dan b.sc in terms of quality education. The p is just dat we have s.tupid govt.
Who prioritize b.sc over hnd.

If truly buhari belongs to everybody and belongs to nobody, polytechnics should start awarding degrees.

90% of all these china and india guys working here ard tech.college graduates earning masters salary in nigeria....i think the best govt should do is: enter into compulsry partnership with registered companies in nigeria attaching them to different schools and tech.colleges to take stipulated number of students 4rm the school to work 24months(spread,either as IT and research)..and obtain atleast 1international certification before being allowed to graduate...tell me why nigerian graduates wount be hotcake.

E.g..an OND student of computer science must work 1 year with one of the numerous companies attached to his school and must have inter.cert frm either of CCNA,Programing,web/graphic design e.t.c,same wt HND...and the cost of the cert drastically subsidised by govt effort....then lets see if china/us nogo bow 4us in 5 to 7yrs time.

I feel for polytechnic graduates. But to think of it, BSc graduates never settle finish yet, you would now add polytechnic too? The solution is more universities, jobs and less corruption.
are you saying that university graduates are of noble born while polytechnic graduates are slaves? Or do you mean they should award jobs to all university graduates before polytechnic.. You are very greedy and you will become a bad leader if you are allowed to lead

Take for example, i have a cousin who came out from kwara poly wit 2.1/upper with ease..and now he is in unilorin studying the same course he studied in poly..and he is complaining that the school is difficult blablablabla..the only thing i find in poly different is the practical aspect

The fact you call for more universities show you lack understanding of the Nigerian situation

It's a known fact and research has shown that polytechnics graduates are far better than their universities counterparts both in theory and practical aspects.Imagine, a uni graduate of mass comm does not know what Public Relations is all about, infact, she can't explain what we call 5w's and H in Journalism, then what are we saying? Anyway,am proud to be a polytechnic graduate of mass communication, either the discrimination continues or not,I will achieve my goals in life

What are they even saying?

Polytechnics and Universities can't be the same and will never be the same.

You can't compare the class of lectures in universities and lecturers. How many prof do you have in the polytechnic? Very few! The minimum degree to lecture in the university is MSC but in polytechnic is Bsc.

I will boldly tell you that 60% of student in polytechnics are those that couldn't meet the high standard of universities or couldn't pass university exams or cut-off. So why are you complaining? You used 160 to gained admission and someone used 250 to gained admission, you want them to be on the same standard. Hey No. If you want Bsc, study very well to gained admission into the university.

The nature and volume of work done by both is very different. University tend to cover a wide area than polytechnics. Visit some of the polytechnics, you will be surprised what they study to write exams. They study one pamphlets called textbooks written by one Mr Ogudedu of less than 100pages and 8 chapters for a course when university student study materials and text books written and edited my three to four prof. With 23chapters and almost 600pages. There is a big gully between these two institution, so they can have the same certification.

Polytechnics was designed for a particular purpose, same as the universities. If you want Bsc go for universities and if you are a lover of practical knowledge, go for polytechnics.

If the dichotomy will have an end; polytechnics will be collapsed as extended campus of existing universities, and major standard of education in Nigeria will be a B.SC Degree. However polytechnic lecturers will have career problems as many of them will be forced to proceed for their PHD or screened out of the lecturing profession.

GOD Bless Nigeria.

I have HND,served and I went back to school through DE started 300L and obtained my B.Eng. Dear Polytechnic students...Rise above discrimination! The government might feel reluctant doing it for you. But you! You can do it even better. Remember, in the end, you are not just a degree holder. You are a polytechnic +university graduate in your field. If you studied Engineering... You must have passed through all the cadres in the Engineering family. You are an artisan, a technician, a technologist and also an Engineer. This means any of your certificates could fetch you a job until a bigger job comes. And the extra mile is a + to your CV. Turn your stumbling blocks into stepping stones. This is what GOVT cannot do for you.
