In reference to the bolded part of your post below, my bro is in a similar scenario (sort of) so I spent some time in the past researching the issue. The peeps at the other Canadian thread tried to address this question a while ago. Hope it helps.

afolaseg:
whats up peps? pls can i use a sponsor statement of 8m and applicant statement of 2m wit a business plan and pix of existing fish farming with no register company name and letter from parent head office stating that his annual salary is 11m to apply for student visa and open work permit for spouse? the tuition fee and cost for expenses for the applicant and spouse is 6m.

Hello Guys. is there any disadvantage of applying online? meanwhile.. i use a macbook, and after filling my IMM1294E form and validating it, the prompt said the fifth page would contain a bar code. but it did not. the fifth page is basically empty just with a title and listing of all the pages spaced apart. please is this normal? or is there supposed to be a bar code? i tried filling the form again with my windows 7, installed on the mac, but it didn't even load the form at all. .

Mac often corrupts PDF forms, especially feature-packed like CIC ones. You have to use original Adobe software to avoid any troubles. When I ordered GCMS I received the consent form, opened it on my Mac and printed as required; then I received an email from visafile.info that the printed form is empty (which it was). I then opened the same PDF on windows computer with Adobe Reader and found that the form was actually pre-filled, and I did not see it on my Mac!

Anyway, even if you apply on paper, barcodes are supposed to be attached to the forms.

Hey guys what's popping. Arrived in Canada a week ago . It's been so hectic settling down. Is there anyone in VIU on this thread. The immigration officer that attended to me didn't ask me any question, just checked my letter and gave me a study permit for two years even though my entry visa was just for 6 months(the passport I used to apply for visa was expiring in February but I got a new one before I left)thank God for journey mercies.

Please how did u get a supervisor. The professors I mailed are not responding. And I can't apply without getting an advisor... Kindly advice... Thanks

I didnt contact a supervisor. I read somewhere that I do not need to get a supervisor for my program ; MSc. Animal Sci.
I emailed the admission office yesterday and they have recommended that I try to get a supervisor for myself as that will further hasten the admission process.

Any Ideas on how to contact a supervisor? Do I need to get a Research topic first? Do I need to send a Research proposal??
Please help!

What was the reason the friend/Maple gave for that assertion?

No reason per say.. He mentioned that MSc applicants are more favoured in online applications. What do u think?

Bdw, bro I got ur message. Thanks, u r the mannestest man.
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 9 by thesoj: 7:17am On Sep 10, 2015
Hmm... I don't have any thoughts about it. My bro is also applying for a PGD and we recently decided that we will do online route.

As long as your friend/Maple cannot provide an explanation for their assertion, I will consider it a moot point. I am unable to come up with a rational reason why online would be worse for PGD. Please ask your friend to find out from Maple why exactly they make this assertion -- if they don't have an cogent reason for their observation then I'd recommend you consider it to be unimportant.

An answer like "most of our online PGD applicants get rejected" is not good enough. Even if true, Maple's PGD online applicants could have been disproportionately rejected because of a hidden variable that they need to identify. The hidden variable may be the causation while the PGD would be the correlation. Correlation and causation are mixed up all the time. Causation is what is most critical.

I would like to hear Maple's reasons sha. I hope your friend is persistent enough to get them to give him/her a satisfactory and specific answer.

You are welcome @ my email.

Its not as that difficult to get a supervisor. Check the research area of the professors and doctors in your animal science. If you see anyone that his research work correlate with yours, you can mail the supervisor. Since you are going for msc, try and contact doctor or associate professors as many professors are always busy with phd students. But I believe you can still apply while searching for supervisors. All the best.

In the area of sponsorship I'm not so good but these are my suggestions;
I guess you're the principal applicant with 2M applying for a study permit and your spouse will be applying for OWP. And you have a sponsor with 11M.
Suggestion 1; consider that you're a mature applicant who is married. Would your sponsor be nice enough to take care of you and your spouse. What is your relationship and what would the sponsor stands to gain? To be precise, why this commitment and the economic value attached to it considering your status.
Suggestion 2; All these amounts you mentioned should be enough if you parkage your funds and sponsorship well. Use the answers you get in suggestion 1 to parkage suggestion 2.

People with better ideas can add or minus from mine suggestions.

Cheers mate.

Thanks BeulahHephziba for your response. I am the applicant with 2m and my sponsor has 8m. My dad anual income is 11m. But as at today, he has abt 50k balance in his account, so he want to request for a letter from head office stating his anual income is 11m and he can assist I and my spouse incase of any immagency. but can I include my dad statement of account with #50k balance ? Or is the letter from head office okay?

Waiting for response pls..

I think its better you apply alone..When you get your TRV, your wife can then apply for SOWP.
The fact that you are a married man and your father is sponsoring you will raise brows not to now talk of an additional dependent; your wife..
Also, you stated that your Dad's annual income is 11m which he gets in monthly installments. So he will be giving you 8m, which is about 72% of his annual income..How feasible is that? You need to ask yourself so how will your dad fare on the little remaining..Are there other sources of income for him? If yes, then please state there and also provide proof..(Rent from property is an easy one)
Also, you stated that his balance now is 50k..My bro, hope you don't intend to apply with that?
It's just easier to apply alone first..It eases the financial burden on your sponsor and your wife also serves as your tie back home..

What you need to concentrate on is the inclusion of documents which best present your personal, academic progress, financial situation and home ties not which route to use. Even Maple clients get refused as well after supposedly choosing the best route for their clients so the theory propounded by Maple that some routes are more favourable for certain academic program level is bunkum and preposterous.
The vast majority of study permit applications are determined solely based on the documents you have included with your application, not the route used to submit the application. It is important to submit relevant genuine verifiable documents and to accept full responsibility for the outcome as well (approved or refused) and if you wish a lot of selfless people here will help sort and review your documents free of any charge which is what Maple do for an overpriced service charge, the decision is yours to make and goodluck with your application.

Pls repy.

Hello,
If you intend to apply at the same time as your wife, then I would suggest you beef up your account or that of your wife. If you are yet to pay your fees, then you need to consider that your fees and living expenses will be taken off the 10m naira available to you.
It is okay to have your father as a sponsor/co-sponsor even as a married man. However, he can state in his letter to the embassy that he has so and so amount of money available to him, he has so and so number of dependants and he is happy to support you and your wife should you need any financial assistance (in this case you have most of the funds in your account and he is just stating that he can support you I there is any shortfall).

A review of your posted list of documents are on point though I did observe that

1. A Letter of Sponsorship from your company is not listed and this letter needs to be signed by the director(s) or duly authorised signatory or signatories depending on the scale of the company (Limited or Public Limited Company) and should contain reasons why the company has chosen to sponsor you and expected benefits and the sum approved to support you for the duration of your programme if possible.

2. The tax clearance certificate where obtainable should be included as well to lend more credence and authenticity.

3. Try to include a breakdown of all personal income and company financial support in detailed form as well as all associated costs related to your programme of choice and use this information to also fill the appropriate section on the study permit form correctly.

All the best bruv.

If your spouse applied through the online route, then she has no problem. She should just take her original int'l passport along with the medical request form to her chosen clinic. That was what I did.

But if she applied via paper route (which I believe her passport wouldn't be with her), then she can be bothered and will need to mail CIC. I think the Accra mail is accra.immigration@international.gc.ca
