pls sir.. I resently gained admission to Emu.. and have
Paided d fees nd received confirmation letter
I ve a 2 year valid uk visa... can I just apply for an
e visa instead of going to the embassy?

Yes you can apply for the e-visa to come over cos is easier and cheaper alternative. However, ensure you either travel on Turkish airline directly from your base to North Cyprus or you connect with Pegasus at Turkey down to TRNC so as to avoid stories that touches the heart.

you have no problem at all , that's if you are talking about planed date of travel in your appointment request , the embassy gives 2 months valid transit visa which starts from the date of your visa interview, so you can buy a ticket to travel as soon as you get your visa

Ohhh sorry for that. Yeah you have to be 18+ for u to access Turkish e-visa. Its always advisable to make just reservation rather than booked the flight when the visa has not been concluded. So before you book again ensure your visa has been granted.

One way for you is to travel to Turkey with your UK visa and on arrival you can just walk into the visa office within the arrival unit of Istanbul and then you can be granted entry visa as well..(VISA ON ARRIVAL)....VERY VALID WAY, CONFIRMED BY ME. ( my youngest brother visiting me had similar challenge; in his case, his luggage was checked in and he needs visa to pick it but he was denied e-visa cos of age also, he walked straight to the visa unit with his Canadian student permit and was granted entrance visa while I was waiting for him in the main Airport to travel down to beautiful TRNC together. You may do this as well....

OR

You can cancel your flight and get refund especially before the travel date if the class of ticket you purchased is refundable or you can simply speak with Turkish airline to reissue the ticket based on your new date. Do you purchase your ticket online or via an agent? Online is quite so easy to do this and may not incur additional charges. If you follow this route, then you must wait for your visa to be granted by Turkish embassy Abuja before you book again.

It takes a week to take your passport back or perhaps know if you got the visa or not.

If you go for interview like on Monday, you know your visa decision the upper week Monday but in general you will be notify at the embassy when to come for you passport.

Thanks for this your reply....at least u seeing some reasons why we respond badly at times to such questions.
Majority of Nigerians don't want to help themselves but want others to do for them and they still complain agents eats their money when u want them to work for u....at least know the documents and then u can come here to ask if all are in place or more need to be added.

Beats me. I mean, weeks before I even received my confirmation letter back then, I already gathered most of those documents. Goes to show he may not have any of it yet. Well, different strokes for different folks.

Just thinking...has there ever been a time the embassy refuse to issue visa to a prospective student? I have all required docs sha but still don't want to miss out anything whatsoever.
The wahala for authentication of docs alone reach to make man drink ota piapia

The probability out of a 10, if you have all your documents and requirements, is almost 0.1.

Just answer the Consular's questions straight to the point. They are very easy questions. For example, when asked how you intend to support yourself, don't try to mention looking for work or seeking scholarship. You are asked who your sponsor is and what he/she does for a living. So it's assumed that you can cater for yourself, since you could pay your fees.

It's barely an interview of up to 5mins. Be confident and think before you answer. For any question you didn't quite get, ask the Consular to repeat himself/herself.

You can ask the view of more experienced folks here too, anyways.

@drinking otapiapia, lol. The stress will be worth it. Best of luck. smiley

Thanks am doing pretty good!...Yes she can be exempted from related courses and her years will be reduced. She will be able to follow the Nursing program in English in either British University of Nicosia or Near east Uni. Yes when the time reached, kindly let me know towards Nov-Dec, I can apply for her....also she may check the universities and learn more. At EMU, nursing is offered in Turkish Language while those mentioned above follow it via English.
Re: North Cyprus by daway: 8:34pm On Sep 15, 2015
Quick question, for those who has gone for their visa interview. After the interview, will they ask you to come in back in 7 days time to pick up visa or what? Or lemme simplify my question, will the embassy give u feedback it u got the visa application approved or nah?

My interview is tomorrow

Toor.. I don go enter one chance niyen... God!!! I dunno what to do.... I gave my certificate to this guy i met at the ministry of education with him promising to give me back the next day... Fast forward to 3 weeks later which was yesterday, i was still looking for this guy up and down abuja.. despite the fact that i dont live in abuja o... okay, i was grateful i collected it at around 7pm monday evening sha. went through the papers immediately.. i saw just 2 signatures on each paper supposed to be for both ministries. I was skeptical at first but the joy of collecting my certificate after 3weeks in abuja was overwhelming so i didnt mind... i got back to the garage and got in a commercial car for another 4hrs journey back to where i came from... throughout the journey, my mind wasnt at rest with just two signatures. i was expecting stamps and signatures although i've not seen an authenticated document b4. I couldnt hold it anylonger sha, so i called one of my guys that is at EMU and asked about the authentication stuff. he said there was supposed to be signatures. I wasnt thoroughly convinced but i had some peace of mind. On getting back to my crib, i looked at the supposedly authenticated documents again but the I knew i wasnt convinced that thats all i was supposed to get. hence the reason for my previous post. Now the problem is I have to be at the embassy on the 21st which is next week monday and honestly, i dont know what to do cause its only the authentication is that remains nowand i am seriously freaking out... i cant even tell my dad cos he already has thoughts i might not meet the students registration deadline at EMU. I'm so confused and perplexed...

N.B: signatures on both papers are the same as well as the dates..
