So how was it consecrated?

You mean your body is not His temple. So why not bow down to dmandy, since his body also is consecrated.

Read first, do you bow down before your pastor before pray?

Joshua bowed before the ark.

You said you don't. That its only a reminder. Now you are saying you do. undecided

hahaha

Stop trying to be clever by half.

So far, I've raised 2 valid infallibles instances where our Lord Jesus 'disowned' Mary as His mother:

The first is in Matthew 12:46-50 where our Lord categorically pointed at his disciples and whosoever will do His will as His mother and brethren.
So far, you havent been able to fault this point.

The second is in Luke 11:27-28 where our Lord deflected the blessing directed at Mary and redirected it to whosoever will hear the word of God and keep it.
The only fault you can find with this is the 'yea'.
Whereas, after the 'yea' comes 'rather'.
Does 'yea' and 'rather' go together?
It tells you that the 'yea' in that passage didnt mean 'yes'. It is similar to the 'yea' in Matthew 26:60, Matthew 21:16, Luke 24:22 etc
So you see, I am still on point.

And how can a disciple not be a follower?

Waoh! y don't you quote me in full.

Does yes and rather go together? Yes they just did in your passage.

Jesus disowned his mother and asked you to honour yours. Sorry.

The yea does not mean yes? you are joker

'But he said, Yes rather, blessed are they that
hear the word of God, and keep it.' AKJV

Are Jesus and I in the same league? Are you saying God is obliged to obey the 10 commandments?

Now you debate like a child.

When a pastor say bow your head in prayer:

1. Do people kneel before the pastor?

2. And do people pray to the pastor?

Why? Jos 7:6 Then Joshua fell to the ground face down before the ark of the lord and remained there till evening.

is that idolatry?

What did you imply here?

italo said he does, the Catholic website said they do. So why only you?

2. No, some pray to God.

That's the thing you are not understanding. You can't bow to a car or a Nepa pole. But u can bow before any if those, worship is truth and spirit.

you should know that.

So you said you can bow to it as far as you do it in spirit and truth.

Then it's not idolatry if I bow to God before a statue that has been consecrated by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit dwells on all our sacramentals...just like he dwelled on the Ark.

That's italo.

Though bowing can be used as a posture in worship, not all bowing is worship. In Japan, people show respect by bowing in greeting (the equivalent of the Western handshake). Similarly, a person can kneel before a king without worshipping him as a god. In the same way, a Catholic who may kneel in front of a statue while praying isn’t worshipping the statue or even praying to it

See what your fellow said.

hmm... if truly that is your position, then I would say you lack faith(#justsaying)
so we should not bow down to the statures we have today because we do not feel the presence of God in them or because there is no mercy seat beside them or because we have not heard God speak from them?
well, in that case we should not bother being Christians, we should throw our bibles away, since God has not spoken to some of us directly and we should not believe what is written in the bible or take it to heart, we should only see it as a best seller novel

Your Catholic site

Your problem with English is easy to understand.

1. I said you can bow before your car or any of those. Not to them. Read.

2. Italo clearly said 'bow to God before a statue' the same manner you bow before yr car wheel.

3. your Catholic said 'kneel in front of' thats same thing as before. The same manner you kneel before your pastor.

English hard o. my brother.... even for here.

Quote dmandy.

BTW, your Before and to english does not do you justice.

"'As surely as I live,' says the Lord, 'every knee will bow before me; every tongue will acknowledge God.'"

"By myself I have sworn, my mouth has uttered in all integrity a word that will not be revoked: Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear."

"Yes, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.""

So bowing before and bowing to, there's no difference.
