Help A Bro Decide On A Job Offer by Nobody: 7:35am On Sep 12, 2015 |
I teach in a school where I earn around 30k monthly, last week I got a job offer from a small micro finance bank. I went through the letter, the renumeration is 50k, 20% of which would be based on my performance for the month, please I'd like to have your opinion considering if I should take the job, but please consider the following points. -the job description wasn't stated in the letter, so I don't know what I'd be doing in the mfb (I don't know if I'd be sent into the market) - in the school I teach, all it takes for me to miss school (maybe to attend an interview or job test) is a phone call. the job is that flexible. but I know the mfb wouldn't give me such freedom. - the mfb is a one man company with just one branch which is located inside a market. so friends. if you were in my shoes what would u do? I want to build my career but I'm scared of signing myself into slavery. |

good mrn dear, it all depends on your aim of workin, n future plans? Consider these? Which of dem will u spend more on fidin, tp, or nid 4 swag(compulsory dress code) which wud take more time,n whch is d most flexible, also consida in which can u make more side income(hahaha, private lesson dey pay off like die o) most importantly consida ur aim in life?? If u aim to lead a career life(am guessing dat u r an acountant) den i advise u 2 think 2wads d microfinance bank? Also, y r dey employing u? Wat happend to d previos person? Was he fired, did he leave bkos of non payment, make friends with d workas dir,n ask dem if d owna pays promptly? Go around d market n ask pipu about d bank? U wud b surprisd at d masive in4mation u wud get about stafing, owna, payment, n most importantly if pipu take d loan n if day pay bak(very important as u no wan dey use ur salary day pay bak loans) and heres d winin card? Ur salary is 40k, extra 10k dpends on ur p4mance, lastly ,if u r pickin d microfinance job, dnt resign ur teaching job yet, take excuse 4 2weeks, den test d mfb, if u like it (abeg call me i have someone dat wants to teach,) weres do u wok? 3 Likes |

stanvesco: thanks . I really appreciate. yes I want to lead a career, but I'm scared about enslaving myself. I'm about to start my msc (fulltime) which I know the mfb wouldn't give me the time to run. the teaching is very flexible. I once travelled for 3 days with just a phone call to the boss. that's how flexible it is. one other fear I have is that every effort I make to get to know my job description in the mfb yeilds nothing, as they keep saying they'd tell me when I resume . on transportation, I'd spend more going to the mfb, nd the mfb requires cooperate dressing always, like a normal bank job, so I'd spend more on clothing. 1 Like 1 Share |

Like i said earlia, dot resign ur teachn job, just take excuse n resume d mfb job, if d job dscrptn is nt wat u expectd, or it involves marketing(hahaha, executive hawkers) u no wat to do? Na only u waka go dir na? Plz i rili av sum1 dat nids a job, incase u want to leave d teachn job 1 Like |

I strongly advice you stay with the teaching, that bank job is marketing. Moreover there is something they are not telling you about the job. Bank job would tie u down, but if a bank job must tie one down it should definitely not be this type. |
