The bank that rejected a dollar transfer from one account to another is none other than the same bank and gave the reason above.

I would have thought as you hence my question was, when you do such a transfer as above what reason do you give that makes it to be accepted by their FX OPERATIONS?

Please note that the funds were not OTC but inflow from overseas!

The exact day I was supposed to activate my newly opened Dom account was d day CBN introduced the stifling policy of rejecting dollar deposit hence I've not been able to activate my account till date....wat can I do please?

I wanted to send some money via WU to the US using Access bank western union, i was told the rate is #201/$1 but the transfer fee was pegged at #16,800.

The fee is damn too high, is there any other way to send money to the US without spending this high on transfer fees and exchange rate.

Transfer fee was pegged at 17k? You mean they'd charge you the mentioned amount?

I use First Bank's money transfer to send money abroad with no hassle or bogus charges.

You don't need to change it to USD. Transfer fee depends on how much you want to post - not more than 15%

No. You don't need an account to transfer money.

And yes, the recipient would cash out the money via Western Union.
