Hello House, Does Logistics has any hedge in Australia? I saw some related occupation in Logistics on the CSOL in 3 States. But my wonder is if one can get a Post Study work Visa after 3yrs Undergraduate program in Logistics towards gaining work exp on PR. Another issue is how is the pay in Oz in this field? (Procurement, Supply Chain Mgt, Warehouse Mgr, Equipment Hire Mgr, Transport and Haulage). Is the pay Rosy over there on this field? |

erictack203:It doesn't matter if your skill is in the SOL for the post study stream and yes, pays are always rosy here. |

laminaria: Thanks a bunch and Amen to the prayer Yes It was SVP Subclass 573 There was no Phone Interview I actually submitted to Teleperformance on the 13th of August and sent a mail to them on the 27th of August for at least an acknowledgement mail to which they responded the following day. After waiting for another week of silence from them, I called Pretoria on the 3rd of Sept and I was told to exercise patience for anoda week. I did not frontload Medicals because I could get an HAP ID before applying, so I was sent a mail last week Tuesday for my medicals, did my medicals on Wednesday with serious following up with the Hospital, got an acknowledgement from Dr. Fatayi on Thursday that my medical reports has been sent then the good news today. 1 Like 1 Share |

I salute all the Nlanders in the house. I have decided to provide some info that will help those who have just got their visas and are planning on coming over. these are the basic things you will need. 1. A new mindset... Australia is a very good place but with very different set of laws for everything. 2. Come with enough money for your house rent (rent for one room with other facilities shared is btw $150-220 weekly depending on where you are staying) , a car(a car is a necessity here) and other basic necessities. 3. learn to drive and come with a proper drivers license- go to road safety and do the right thing, it will save you years of seeking a drivers permit here. 4. Food is cheap here except for people who are adamant on eating Nigerian food, cos african food is expensive here. 16 cubes of knorr na $5. All that Gari you take for granted is gold here. N500 goat meat is $12 here. 5. Dont bring too much clothes and shoes, clothes here depends on the weather and you have good bargains all over and for shoes it will shock you to see them walking bare feet most of the time. dem no send you at all. When you get to the airport, get a lebara line for enough talk time to those back in naija. for $29.90 about N4k monthly, you have 3 hrs talk time to naija and 2GB, and unlimited talk time within australia, optus and Telstra are good as well but dont give enough talk time to Naija. 6. For guys, buy a clipper and start learning how to shave your hair. For ladies buy wigs and learn how to do basic weaving for yourself, it will save you cash in your first few months. 7. Get all the practical skills you can use before coming 8. The first jobs you will do here will be MENIAL JOBS, except you have a job offer from Nigeria. get ready to get a white card for those who intend to work in basic construction sites or do an aged care or disability course to get into the system quickly with an aged care job. other jobs will be cleaning, working in warehouses etc. the basic pay for a cleaner here is about $17-23.40 per hour. So dont expect that to pay your fees. 9. If you can pursue the PR route, thats the best way to come to Australia. You will be better prepared with this information. Australia is one of the best countries in the World... I can say that again and again. my two cents... 12 Likes 2 Shares |

entrepreallianc:thank you for this great advice. please what sort of work can be quickly sort for immediately as one landed in Aussie on student visa? how long does it take to sort for job? secondly, What is d eligibility of one's spouse . is there any requirements for spouse on student visa (SVP) to be precise.?if one's spouse is on ground, is he eligible to work? and can he work to finance his or her spouse education? thirdly, what are d possibilities of bringing in Nigeria food when coming? what are d suggested things that one can bring in for sales when coming instead of packing clothes. in d luggages? Iam on knee waiting for good people of this forum to give real answers. |

They don't know about shares, had same issues that made me to defer my July admission. Then my sponsor sold the required amount and left it in his account. It's very crazy that they don't appreciate investment in shares and stocks 2posh: |

bb64:If you are here for masters, your spouse will have unlimited working hours while you will be restricted to 40hrs per fortnight, but if you are here for Bsc or Diploma, the 40hrs per fortnight rule will apply to both of you. I will advise you to have enough money for Cert. training especially in aged care or disability, your spouse can do the same but if he is not the care or hospital type, he can do a security training or get a forklift license and white card. It will help both of you secure a job quicker. Yes, you can bring African food with you but make sure they are neat and well packed, insects free as well. You can pack extra food if you want something to sell, some African shops can buy them from you. Hope i answered your questions? You can stand up now.... 2 Likes |

Mikey: Thanks for this. Are you under SVP? I understand that with SVP, there's no need for proof of finances/evidence of funds. Please has anyone here, under SVP, received their visa without providing bank statements? |
