To all those claiming "traffic" as a sensible reason for the sexist romance threads, here is a breakdown of the latest anti-intellectual threads from the romance section

1) Thread that claims women say "no" to proposal because of size of engagement ring (4 pages)
https://www.nairaland.com/2520744/7-common-reasons-why-ladies

2) The reasons why ladies won't get married soon (4 pages)
https://www.nairaland.com/2518688/see-reason-why-many-ladies

Then here are low-IQ posts from the romance section-

3) Tricks lagos guys use to woo ladies in public transport undecided (4 pages)
https://www.nairaland.com/2521020/revealed-new-tricks-lagos-guys

4) 10 weird and shameful practices guys do when they want girlfriends cry (5 pages)
https://www.nairaland.com/2521142/10-weird-shameful-practices-guys

So, to all those claiming that it is a business decision when pushing low-IQ posts (especially sexist romance threads) to the front page, you guys are wrong. It is not guaranteed traffic. It is giving dullards a platform to misinform others.

To be fair, once in a while, a foolish thread from the romance section will bring a lot of view....but only because it is annoying and divisive. For instance, this thread that has a silly view on men and rape https://www.nairaland.com/2520057/trick-use-catching-potential-rapist

Anti-Intellectual threads from romance section?

Dude it's the romance section, and not a physics lab or philosophy workshop.

Your condescending and patronising tone is made more annoying by the fact that you are Olodo pretending to be a Professor.

Please stop tagging me in your mumustic posts.

There are sensible threads in the romance section but somehow , it's the silly ones that make the front page.

It is not condescending to call out the silliness of a silly thread. Again , there are sensible threads in the romance section. I am not against the romance section, I am against low IQ sexism.

I understand your pain though. You were thoroughly exposed as a pretentious pessimist

Just to make something clear to you, I have to repeat this point-

There are sensible threads in the romance section. I did not ask for deep philosophy in the romance section, so stop the silly strawmen.

Not to bad. I've been quite busy myself. After a long summer break, I'm back to the world of long work hours, 2 hour commutes, and the spectacular unreliability of England's rail system.

The fact that you even keep tabs on what I do on this board indicates that you have nothing better to do with your time.

I on the other hand have zero interest in what you do and when you do it.

Good day.

The funny thing is both of you on a thread makes it interesting, two sides of one coin, your arguments provides a balanced view of things.
Can't you guys stop flexing manly muscles and just be friends!!

Also, I hear that he is a married man.

I see AllNaijaBlogger is on a no BS campaign. As a mod, I do try to keep my dealings as transparent as possible. As you already know, I've zero tolerance for misogynistic comments, which I'm usually on the receiving end & I can clapback like the best of 'em with a missive worthy of a political manifesto.

Anywho as an ordinary mod, the best I can do when it comes to FP articles is only to suggest them, then cross my fingers and hope it gets picked. I've already aired my feelings about the FP at least once, so I won't do it again on this thread. There's a thread I once submitted (https://www.nairaland.com/2002195/why-females-hate-video-games) for FP. I reluctantly put it up because I knew we would eventually get generalised (some bordering on misogynistic & homophobic) comments when it would make FP. Of course, those comments happened once it made FP.

The Romance section is highly toxic, since it appears to be where most of the scorned children reside. Lord knows, I actively avoid that area, whenever I do venture there - I just say "nope" after I've read the FP post and leave. I've wasted enough time over there trying to give a civilised discussion. By the time you've made 2 valid points, you will miraculously turn into a sensitive female dog, who apparently is very into gardening & gold digging, whose garden apparently needs to be ploughed. There are times I honestly wonder if some NLers are actually adults or aliens pretending to be adults through bad TV shows antics...

Welcome to the brave new world where someone will eventually ask you for proof...When did feminism become a bad word? Why is it considered an insult to be seen as a feminist? It's like when someone once called me an African as an insult. Yes, I know it's about female rights, but it simply means equality for both sexes. Now, if you're really looking for a silly cause, see MRA's protest against Mad Max: Fury Road. Now, that's some funny shtako right there.

At the end of the day, these questionable threads will always make FP, because they'll always attract attention...regardless of the quality of the attention.

BookMarked!!
