Thanks @dere5 @Noge@favoredgal...they are fine all thanks to God..the nurse be came my friend and was visiting us and saw us to the airport when we where leaving..she said there was another triplets mom dat had complications and was sent to the medical center at downtown...and be for I came they kept telling him they where not trained for this and that he should tell us to go to the right hospital in case the babies come on time but he refused..they had to hire equipment because they are not equipped for triplets babies because they come out small that was why she really wanted me to take it up and she will come testify ..dr F feels we are not from there and may not know the law so he can treat us any how and get away with it..he spends just 2 seconds with one person...I was never scaned just my first visit because he has no time.i had B P, to get drugs from Walgreens thru his office was war..because of too many pple...in all I give God thanks for the provision because if I went with a tight budget he would have messed us up. |

Meeracle: thanks for sharing....i had a great experience with oakbend even though my baby went to NICU as well. I had to google level 1, 2 and 3 NICU now to understand better. if he was going to make a name, i am baffled that he did not bring his A game to the table. disappointing indeed kisses to your angels |

seriously this is disheartening i dare say.. apparently anywhere we find ourselve, it seems that naija factor catches up with us. well, this seems to reiterate the need for us to really do background / profile research on our prospective ob/gyn to ensure we get the better healthcare wch is part of our main reason for these ventures. lets be forewarned. best of luck to us all. For Houston mom's with triplets, do consider women's hospital of Texas or memorial herman 2 Likes |

zoemummy:I intend to use Dr Adaiah Ezekiel in Oakbend. The budget sheet is hereby attached. Honestly, i remember DH mentioned he heard about Dr F's attitude subjecting mamas to induction when they didnt request for it etc but I searched for this info online but didnt see it. Healthgrades and a couple other medical site to check out Dr's reviews didnt even mention anything like it but i knew one day I would get more info on him via this platform. May God help us. 4 Likes 1 Share |

@firsttymum don't let all the reviews scare you especially if you are expecting 1 baby. I was once bent on using Dr F until @Nogen and some other triplets mama's advice me against it. I jejely moved my research to El Paso. Carring triplets is already High risk enough it's not wise to go to a Dr who has his hands full and uses a hospital without a level 3 NICU. firsttymum: |

Hello fam......how are all the mamas and papas doing. I finally got to Elpaso last night after my long Waka from Abuja-Frankfurt-Denver-Elpaso. My Denver POE: Cbp: hello ma'am, what are you in the states for? Me: hello, childbirth Cbp: is this your first time coming to the US Me:yes Cbp: is your family here? Do you have any family or friends here? Me: nope in Nigeria. Cbp : kindly put your right four fingers here(he scans) pls come with me for inspection since it's your first time here Second officer : hello Mrs ......... I see your husband is a........with....... Me: yes sir Officer :have you contacted the doctor and gotten the bill? Me: yes I have (He askes if I've heard of boko haram and if I live around there. Told him no) he smiles and says they always pray for our safety in Nigeria. Na so I thank am and bless am join. Officer: in case you need more money, ask your husband to send it to you. Do not receive any aid from the hospital. And since your child is going to be a citizen, make sure you make five copies of your child's document for his school etc. Sends me to another officer where I declared my cash which was a little over 10k. No agriculture inspection (my indomie was intact as I made sure I removed the wrap one after the other from naija). I dint use wheelchair all through my journey and got quick service when I mention to them that am pregnant esp when boarding any of the flight. I was the only black person onboard frankfurt-denver-elpaso. Thank God for favor and I pray same for everyone intending to travel......am at His Grace Lodge (they picked me up from the airport) and am loving the place. Thanks to my naira land bestie. Wish us all safe delivery 11 Likes |

MumTee: because the tsunami wiped those pages out. to be fair to him, he tries to schedule induction so he can plan properly to be there for the birth and if you decline he doesn't pressure you. i for one declined induction and he did not make me feel guilty or pressured. i just asked is the induction your medical advice in your capacity as my doctor and he said NO |

nefertitiram: you wey just born. on a much serious note my friend that used Women's hospital paid about 7k5 for singleton VD. enquiries can always be made but for people having singleton, i for one had a great experience with Oakbend and i had no problems with dr F, although people say he doesn't spend sufficient time with patients, i don't see the big deal about spending time with my doctor generally especially if my pregnancy is uncomplicated, my vitals are good and i have no complains. my first baby i used premier hospital and Georges Hospital here in Lagos for antenatal, second i am using reddington, these are considered A hospitals and the gyneo doesn't linger with me either |

Hello good people. I’ve been a silent reader on this thread but just picked up the courage to join the community. I stumbled on the 1st part of this thread in Nov 2013 when it was just about 45 pages. I just returned to the discussion due to my plans for the second missionary journey for Oct- Dec. I got my VISA in January 2014 and was all set to go to El Paso. However, due to hubby’s inability to make the initial leg of the trip and it being my own first time in the US, I ended up with my cousins in Houston (one of them a Doctor). I was referred to Oakbend/ Dr. Ezekiel and had my son in April(2014). To the glory of God, the vaginal delivery was quick and without epidural although my naija doctors had been telling me I was gonna end up with CS. I had a very good experience and would refer Dr Ezekiel without any reservations although at that time she took very few naija patients. Because of our issues, I guess. I’m happy to know she’s relaxed her rule now. With respect to the recent issues with Dr. F, I would like us to be somewhat merciful. I do not support what he did by not showing up for the delivery or taking on more than he can chew. I would also recommend that he be made to do a refund or compensation. However, I would want to point out the situation is a consequence of the bombardment from we naija patients. Let’s not forget that he’s been one of the few Drs who respond to emails and give correspondences that a number of people (NOT ME) have used for VISA or POE purpose. So the caveat is that only people with uncomplicated pregnancies or very limited options should use him. By the grace of God, I would be in Dallas for my next delivery and would be sure to post details of the doctor and hospital fees soon. Apologies for the long post. God bless y'all 10 Likes |

Lol If your pregnancy isn't high risk and your vitals are great and you are not really into talking and chatting with your doctor, you are good to go. Despite the stories and first hand experience, I still went with Dr F, my heart was just at peace with him. Most hospitals don't have that level 3 NICU- even the popular Methodist/ Dr Amajour still had to refer someone to Texas children's this month We can only trust God for complication free delivery. firsttymum: |

He isn't one chance, very experienced. Used him last month for a scheduled CS as well - was on time, recovery was great to the glory of God and each time I had concerns and sent him mails, he responded on time. I have no complaints. neks31: 1 Like |

Hi.. I concur with dere5 as I had a similar experience. I was honest about the training(more of social event sef) and plans of having my baby there. I went along with all d relevant docs which she looked at and approved d visa. I attended d event in Newyork before heading to Elpaso. quote author=dere5 post=38026746] I think you are good to go,i dont think you need to send them a mail since the visa has not been issued. Just be truthfull and explain to the vo that plans had been made for the training before you got pregnant and you have decided to have the baby there after the training and pls go prepared with all the neccessary burden of proof. Best of luck with your interview.[/quote] 2 Likes |

As far as I'm concerned, he should stop collecting high risk pregnancies because he isn't ready for them. The day he will get into trouble, ehennn! I don talk my own. 1 Like |
