Thank you. I have a paypal account and I want to send some money to someone's account in US. How do I do this?

If you had linked your bank account to your PayPal, request PayPal account from your USA guy and login to your PayPal account and click on "send money"".

Paypal pegged it at #225/$1 and 2.99% as fee.

Is actually 3.9% + 0.30

Went to GTB yesterday and was told I can no longer cash the dollars across the counter. I was now referred to one mallam who is now permanently camped in that branch. You fill a transfer form to mallam's account, mallam pays you the exchange rate (I cashed at N222 to $1 yesterday), then GTB takes their transfer fee of either $10 or 1% of amount, whichever is more.

Can you imagine this? What it means sha is that I cam now sell my dollars at any price I want to anyone who is desperate for it.

I do not think this is applicable to all GTB branch but however,i guess the arrangement is still ok because if you were to cash and exchange with the Malam outside, you won't be getting it @ #222 to $1. For an electronic transaction like the one you did,you should have bargained for #230 to $1.

That's why JP Morgan delisted us. The disparity should never be more than 3%. The banks are feeding fat off us.

That GTB is cheating you. They are just helping to fund the mallams dorm account which he would in turn sell the electronic dollar at up N235 to $1.

I am not aware of any CBN directive to stop cash withdrawal of foreign currency.

In a nutshell, you were shortchanged.

Well, that is the rate at which I would still have obtained it if I had withdrawn and sold at Sheraton. So I don't feel shortchanged.

I have another $1000 to exchange. Remember I can only help you with the dollars here in US. I can pay into ur US account or western union/MoneyGram to wherever you want it and you pay naira into my Ecobank account.
My exchange rate is 226 to $1.
