I didn't say he isn't biting more that he can chew please, you will see I only responded to a post on whether or not he is one chance and as regards CS specifically.

Everyone can choose as their spirit or heart or research leads them, not my personal business. Just giving the lady the other side as well.

BIKO Financefitness please how does one Modify an already submitted DS-160. i need to help some
FinanceFitness:
They may find it suspicious that you are going on a training when you should be winding down and going on maternity leave. So they may doubt that your training story.

If you are certain the training story is correct, then go with the other documents, explain yourself and pray they understand.

If no, you can still modify your form to have the correct details - it's somewhere on this thread

Hello Wonderful people,

I don't mean to derail the thread, but i have a strong urge to put this word out there. If for any reason you decide to stay with a friend or relative for free instead of getting a paid apartment, try to show some courtesy or love to your hosts. Some of the few things they may appreciate amongst other things;

- Carry some naija foodstuff for them when you're going
- You can assist with $50 for groceries every month depending on your pocket ( drinks, water, tissue paper etc. from Walmart)
- Help them with a reasonably sized bag on your way back to naija for their folks back home.

My close pal who hosted a family free of any charge (Mum and Toddler - approx. 3 months, hubby and new baby - short while) had painful stories to share about their time with her. I choose to believe her because we're about 4 preggo pals that have stayed with her to date

Her guests wash and dry their dirty clothes every night when she has gone to bed despite her telling them to wait till saturdays when she has free electricity.
Not a dime ever spent to buy anything for the house - they will even consume her toddlers small-size juice (snacks for day care) whenever there's no soft drink in the house
According to her - they eat full three square meals (LOL) every single day. If she runs out of meat/ fish for any reason, expect the eggs to begin to evaporate in threes.

Loads of complaints that i don't have the time to type. However, the one that "pained" her the most, was their refusal to help her bring anything down to Nigeria for her folks.

I think a lot of nigerians abroad just love people to help them pick a bag or two when returning to nigeria, it seems as if they look forward to it.

Bolded killed me!!!

Jokes apart I absolutely second this post.

I made it a point of duty to buy things, nothing much o, just some Walmart type stuff etc for my hosts.
My mum and I ensured we cooked our own meals, switched off lights to conserve electricity, generally was unobtrusive, found my way around town myself (thanks uber). My mum even assisted them with cooking meals, to relieve my host who had a very busy schedule.

My host has been asking when we are coming for second missionary journey...

Totally agree. And offer to pay for gas for their car once in a while too.

Hello great pple,
I hav benefited so much from this thread. I decided to share my experience getting a visa on my blank passport. Please every info I give is my personal opinion. I personally applied the visa for myself and wife from start to finish (advise No 1. Don't use visa agents). In our DS160 I made it clear that we are going to US to have our baby and nothing else (advise No 2- don't lie when filling your forms). Had d visa interview on 31 Aug in Abj. The interview went like this.
VO- good morning
Me- morning ma'am
Vo- (collected our confirmation page and scan) I can see that you are travelling to have your baby
Me- yeah, our first baby
Vo- congrats
Me- thank you
Vo- so have u contacted a doctor?
Me- of course ( sliding d letter from Dr FF)
Vo - how much is d budget
Me- 17000usd
Vo- who's paying
Me- I
Vo- do u have a relative in d US
Me- nope
Vo - so where u staying?
My wife- (smiles) 2401synott rd, Richmond Tx
Me- pampered stay, it's a concierge apartment.
Vo - what does your wife do?
My wife - am a banker
Vo- am approving your visa, pick it up at dhl centre on Wednesday and wish you a safe trip
We - thank you.
(That was easy for us tho I suspect that it's cos I was dressed in my mlitary uniforms).

My wife will be traveling in Oct but she's worried that am not coming with her and scared of POE 's wahala. We planing on booking for arik to JFK (cos is d most affordable).

Pls share your experiences with the immigration officials at New York POE. Any advice will be highly appreciated.

Adios

Or better yet, commit 30% of your accommodation & feeding budget as support in running the home.
Cos truth be told, if you didn't have a host you wouldn't ve gone n lived under d bridge as such 30% of d cost implicating for accommodation n feeding spent on ur host will be gud savings for you and I trust the host will be blown outta dis world for such ur gesture.

Reality of it is that we can't eat our cake n have it.

Yes we wanna save as much as we can buh there's what they call "barest minimum"

My take though.

Greetings. .
While I console with you, I may say you Gabe yourself up as unprepared and technically ignorant of what you're really going to do.
Here are my takes on the red flags. .
1. You have relatives in the us whom you are not staying with rather you staying in an HOTEL for 3 months. ...
-- if you did your research you'd know that it's either a host or an apartment rental.
2. You ignorantly shot ursef in the leg by simply quoting the state u r hoping to give birth (noting that you didn't mention hospital or doctor) then went ahead to blab that an AGENT (not yourself) is HANDLING everything. ...

Trust me these guys don't wanna hear that.

My advice, pick a pen and a paper and start reading my dear. ...b4 you go 50 pages u'd have been armed at getting yourself a visa.

Sorry again for your denial and good of you to be on the mindset that you re learning a lesson or two from it.
Goodspeed

Even if you have gone with the agents you dint have to tell the vo that. That's a big No No

If you've read the thread like you said you would have known that. Which is why they started denying elpaso people.

No need crying over split milk. And you can apply asap. The next available date is third week of November last I checked
