Dehonourable:

With due respect sir, one of our members had a terrible experience last year and we will not want to experience such again. Therefore, I urge and suggested that evry members of this honourable forum shld keep some activities concerning this germany pursuit confidential for our own safety because we are on a faceless forum.

I think we are very much comfortable the way things are moving so far, so disclosing some sensible dates may not be good for us.

Thanks.

Today I thank God almighty for all the blessings he has bestowed upon members of this great thread and ask him to continue to grant us our heart desires and meet our needs. When I was about to start this journey, few people that knew about it tried to discourage me. My nature is that I don't listen to discouragement. I'm very determined, and I believe so much in what God can do.

I want to also use this opportunity to thank my brother from another mother Eke40seven. This brother has been there for me from day one to this day without charging me a dime. And to Futurwise11, Zeeblamjo1, Warbay1313 and everyone.......... I say thank you.

I had my interview on the 10th of August, funded the same day, received credit entry confirmation from Deutsche Bank 3days latter. The day before yesterday, I received the much awaited mail from the Embassy to come and pick up my visa. Yesterday afternoon I was among the 19 students that collected their visas at the German Consulate.

To those who are yet to fund as a result of one problem or the other. It is easy to lose hope when your troubles
surround you. Uncertainty and doubt can fill you with fear especially when it looked as if there seems to be no way out of your pain. Continue to trust God for a miracle he never disappoints.

To #Teamsummerwinter2016 your testimonies shall be greater.

Congratulations go and succeed

I still dont get y'all point.
firstly itz a faceless forum and u are responsible for your security in here..if you choose to expose yourself or not, itz all in your hands.

I read abt the incident some months back and if I'm not mistaken, she took a taxi from the embassy to her destination and the taxi man robbed her and took her handbag which contained her visa. Do we now assume the cab man got her info on nairaland? Is lagos state completely free of such kinda crime? Seriously I dont see how both incident relates to each other.

I started out in the canada thread and dat particular list helped out locating whoz heading to same school, estimated time of visa approval and schools wit reasonable number of nigerians.

We are solely responsible for our security on nairaland. If you reveal too much about yourself, then you face the consequences but I can beat my chest and say that list poses NO security risk.

That is my personal opinion tho

I honestly go with your idea 100%. As for that incident, I don't also see how the whole thing relates to a comment on a faceless forum where people are known by monikers rather than real names and pictures. In the same place where this incident was initiated, you have 100s-1000s of people going there for one visa related matter or the other. The US and Italian Embassies are there too so it's commonsense that the thugs just chose their victims randomly and she happened to be one. We all know that those guys outside there from COKE SELLERS to people running paper and document replication centres are mostly criminals and you will know when you make a deal with any of them.
That very unfortunate event could still have happened whether the victim was in Nairaland or not, it all would have depended on her discernment at that point to know who was a criminal or not.
Dam12 or who ever suggested this, I think your idea is great, it adds something to this thread.

My two cowries.

Leadway is cheaper and better than IGI but most people don't know.
IGI will issue u a black and white copy of travel/health insurance the only thing that will signify that is original is just the stamp. But u need to see Leadways Assurance travel/health issurance @ the rate of NGN12,040. Leadway is located between Costain and Alaka But/stop Surulere.

IGI issued me a proper coloured copy.

Depends on the branch.

But since leadway is cheaper. She can go for it.

At what rate? IGI is more than 14K but Leadway is NGN12,040. How I wish u have seen Leadways travel/health Insurance. You will know exactly what a perfect health/travel insurance looked like.

if there are a lot of PMs, information will be lost here for most people in the same race presently and those coming behind.. May be they should just stick to the admission details and interview dates. They may not need to write the day of collection since that is where the crux of the matter lies and just write only the date of approval... I. E. Don't reveal the day you will be going to pick up your visa but the day of approval would not pose any security risk, would it? Since no one will know the day of your pick up.
But the drawback of this is that, when one uses another's chronology to evaluate against ones, one is likely to put oneself under unnecessary tension especially when events are unfolding a bit more slowly.

By the way, QS, one of the three main recognized international universities ranking bodies sent me a publication of their latest rankings 2015/2016 yesterday ..(I registered for for their publications free).. It should be on their site too

From the latest rankings, in Germany.
1. TUM cool
2. University of Heidelberg
3. LMU
4. KIT
5. FU Berlin
6. HU Berlin
7. University of Freiburg
8. RWTH Aachen
9. University of Gottingen
10. University of Tübingen
The top 4 are within the top 100 in the world.
On their site you can filter your search to check how the various faculties fair against each school apart from the general rankings.
