Biting is lifting a bar 'word to word'. Recycling is the same thing as dropping a generic bar - copying an already existing/ used idea. E.g playing hair/heir/here....dye/die... Etc etc.

Biting is the most serious crime. One can intentionally copy an idea and play it in a more intelligent way and still get plaudits. He can deny knowing about the existence of such idea and call it a coincidence or 'great minds think alike', but biting word for word is something else.
