I haven't used my GTB Naira MasterCard in months. Just logged into my online banking account and I saw "dormant account".
I'd like to make some online payments for some things online, so I want to pay some money into the account so that I can use my Naira MasterCard, but I feel a little confused here about that "dormant account" status I'm seeing. Does it mean that I can not be able to make payment again with my card, or if I pay in money to the account, I cant withdraw or use it online, or......wat?

Can somebody tell me the implication of that "dormant" I'm seeing, please? Also what is the current charge/$?

"Dormant account" means that your account has gone inactive hence can no longer be used for any transactions till it is reactivated. To reactive the account go to any branch of your bank with a valid national ID, utility bill receipt and some funds.

The current dollar rate is not stable, hovers between 219 to 225..

As Treasury single account is the order now... Its customers money they want to pick on now.

It is 13% conversion rate according to them. Take it up. They'll prove difficult but will give you if you keep piling pressure on them. Took 3 weeks and lots of argument for them to return mine. Send them a mail first.

I see no reason why the card rate should even be higher or at par with the parallel markets rate

Banks charges high rate but refund at low rates..is that not criminal?

If we keep quiet,CBN may feel it is a palatable condition for us

There are many card users on naira land(online payers or on-the-web payers).. If 60% of us can turn up for the fight,may be something will happen

Survey cash has created a thread for the fight against the ineligibility of Nigerians to legally withdraw PayPal funds and a link to the petition was left to be endorsed by all.

We can do same..but this time,email to the CBN will be cool..they will directly feel our displeasure through that medium..

Let's not just keep quiet

People now run protest electronically...we can even write then copy the ministry of finance that's if the ministry has a working email system

made a transaction of 9.06usd today via stanbic, was charged 1993.6naira. that is at a rate of 220naira to a dollar. Finally my romance with stanbic is coming to an end, going back to my main bank cos my sole reason of using stanbic was their rates.

Which of their cards did you use?
I can take it up for you for fast reversal if it is any of their prepaid cards like Africard and Smartmoney.

I don't seem to understand why Diamond bank has kept on favoring me by charging me between 203.5 and 204.5 even made a transaction today and was charged 204.487. Other Diamond bank users I have seen on this forum post high rates which they are charged while I am yet to figure out why my own case seems to be different, for good though..

P.S. Do not rush to Diamond bank to open an account on the grounds that I recommend them, please bear in mind also that other Diamond bank users are crying foul. That is why I started by saying that I am highly favored.
