manjuninho:I agree because a Professional Accountant and an Accountant can't be paid the same, An Engineer or a COREN certified Engineer can't be compensated equally, same with a teacher that is certified and an uncertified teacher can't be paid equally. |

I said somebody that has ordinary NCE, not somebody with bsc(ed) or b.ed, im not even talking about those with ordinary b(sc). In my school NCE money is diff from bsc and bsc is diff from b.ed . Even govt job, NCE is level 7 while b. Ed is level 8 . 2 Likes 1 Share |

Sunnypar: You are so right on point boss.....where I work presently though the pay is not much, the owner pays NCE holder more than the so called BSC holder unless its in EDU but same cannot be said of others schools thereby placing the NCE holders with SSCE holders which is ridiculous |

I didnt rank NCE with SSCE, afterall i had NCE before BSC, and i know how hard it was to scale through NCE infact harder than university, i just made reference and everybody is picking on it, thats why i dont like commenting on trends like this. 3 Likes |

Adeoba10: That is how it is o. They will drill you as if it is one million they want to pay. It does not speak well for a graduate to be paid or offered 15k after years in school. So what is the value of the certificate? The more we underprice ourselves the more we will be taken for granted. 1 Like 1 Share |

manjuninho:And what's so special about NCE that one cannot place it side by side with SSCE? Or is it not the NCE that they use Essential Chemistry, Essential biology textbooks, etc to teach them? Most NCE students I've met are bunch of University-wannabes... The case of NCE holders is analogous to Govt sch teachers that are professionally qualified to teach, but academically, many of them are not in tuned with modernity... But Bsc holders, just show them the format of that 'yeye' lesson note, they will teach your students beyond your imagination because the stuff is there. If you're talking of graduates, abeg, never ever mention NCE holders o jere. 5 Likes 1 Share |

@Evathyst, I so much agree with you. Most big schools won't even employ NCE. And there is no way an NCE graduate will collect more than a Bsc graduate. |

Evathyst:I still do not know how to reply this your demoralizing post because it shows the scope of your exposure (I am sorry if that hurts). Can you imagine? You called a teacher's manual without which he is not qualified to be in a class "yeye" lesson note. I doubt if you were taught by a teacher (sorry if that hurts). Do you know who a teacher that went to College is? He is an embodiment of knowledge. And let me educate you a little. The first and only Prime Minister Nigeria had was an NCE holder in person of Alhaji Tafawa Balewa. And you mentioned the swift learning of Bsc holder in adapting to write almighty lesson note. See let me tell you, writing lesson note is one thing, teaching is another thing. Even if that Bsc holder can write a better lesson note in a short while the truth is that he is not a trained teacher. I agree not all nce graduates are also competent but now badmouthing nce and comparing it to ssce is ridiculous and annoying. I have also seen scores of Bsc graduates who can't put two words together. I can't because of that debase degree to primary school leaving certificate. PS: I have nce and also a proud Bsc graduate by God's grace. 5 Likes |

Why is people placing SSCE And NCE together because they can never be rank together, it seems those who are saying so did not passed through NCE so they are here making false information. To the brothers and sisters in the house, if you do not passed through something or have somebody that passed through. Don't talk, is even better not to say anything. Because Degree can never be compared to NCE talk less of SSCE. Though they might use SSCE chemistry, physics, biology as some people claimed here in the forum. But come to think of it why Degree you claim that is superior than NCE is not offering major and minor courses like NCE do. For example if you are NCE holder you have to offer double course, one would be major, and the other minor i.e Computer Science/Integrated Science in Education. Which means you are to do all computer courses as the major, then all integrated science courses as the minor, all education courses and all general courses. When you count the course total credit unit people are offering 27,28,30,32,36 etc. credit unit so tell me which is more superior is it Degree or NCE. This not that am talking for talking sake is from personal experience. When you enrolled in Federal Colleges of education you are to do some special education courses apart from the one I slated above. If people are saying NCE should rated with SSCE is simply because they did not passed through it, like wise OND. It is Nigeria system of education that made Nigeria teaching educations to be downgraded, Go to other countries they do appreciate what they have, for instance if a white man wanted to employ you and you are OND holder you tend to gain employment than the So called almighty Degree holder. Can someone please tell me why this is so, it quite simple just because of more practical knowledge. So come to Degree stuff, has some one discover that the NCE holder tend to be First Class holder, than those who enrolled for Degree in 100l. The answer is simple because they are exposed to so many courses during NCE time but Degree courses are fewer i.e at most 5,6,7, and the highest is 8 courses and they feel OK in making the best out of it with out much stress. Mind you am running my degree now I knew how many courses am doing right compare to NCE time where one has to do 16,18,20 etc courses. So people who do not value NCE such people do not pass through the system. Let me drop mine pen for update later. 2 Likes |

Evathyst: That's a big lie, I am a product of College of education and I can say it without fear of contradiction that there is no college of education that teaches with essential textbook. Though majority of NCE graduates were nt opportuned to gain admission into the university but that doesn't make you better than them. Do u think teaching is all about you been brilliant or intellegent, for your infomation it goes way beyond that and only a person trained in act can know. |
Re: Strictly For Those Interested In Teaching Jobs by manjuninho(m): 6:11pm On Sep 17, 2015 |
oneluvs: Don't mind majority of them, its not their fault but that of the country where laws are only made without it been adhered to. Imagine someone who offered not more 9courses in a semester comparing with one who does 16course which is d lowest in NCE....... 1 Like |
